There are a lot of elements to witchcraft and magick, but we mostly work with energies. Basically everything is made of energies and emits energies. Your hand, your phone, your chair, your car( if you have one) everything. This is actually backed up by scientific research and studies. Witches tend to have a strong connection with energies. So when they cast a spell, make a talisman or participate in a ritual they send out an energy and it bounces back. Think of when you order something online. You place an order and it is shipped to you. That's how it works, say you are casting a protection spell. You are placing an order for protection. It's not a perfect analogy, but it is the best one I can think of. This is also why crystals are so useful. Crystals have a wide range of energy frequencies and witches love it. I would recommend watching "The Secret" for more information. They also have a few books so you can read about the law of attraction.
