Every one of us has a destiny and a legacy
For most, it is unknown, a mystery
Some see the idea as sheer idiocy
But I'd like to admit that my legacy means a lot to me.
What will I leave behind when I am gone?
Will there be someone to think of me when they stay awake until dawn?
Will I be remembered for being strong or will I be seen as someone's pawn?
I sit and ponder all of this late at night
Wondering if anything I do makes a difference, because try as I might
Nothing I do seems to have an impact, I am no-one's bright light, no-one's brave knight
I try and try yet I am shown the truth thanks to reality's harsh and cruel bite
But I won't quit, won't be stopped by a simple red light
Because I know I what I want my legacy to be: that I helped others fight the good fight
