The Division of Remnant

A New World

Shay woke up among the wreckage of the chopper that had been meant to fly him and his team to New York to aid in securing the city from all the chaos that had ensued after the virus that had been spread on Black Friday had become active.

"Blaze (Brantley), Fallen(Solen), report." He called as he staggered to stand, searching for his team. He found them near the crash, both alive but bruised, beaten, and unconscious."Eyes up ,you two."
He said and gave them each a small dose of adrenaline, after making sure they weren't bleeding. Blaze was the first to wake up, bolting up to a sitting position as he felt the effects of the adrenaline shot.

"Easy, you're hurt, take it slow. Fallen should be coming around..."shay says before he is interrupted by Fallen shooting up and drew his sidearm, pointed it at Shay before realizing who he was "now." He finished

Fallen holstered his pistol and lays down "Wake me up when my head doesn't hurt." He groaned

"Can you two move?" Shay asked and checked his ammo "yeah." They both answer slowly standing up "let's go, there's a town that way." Shay says and points to the lighter sky to the east and starts leading his team to the city, Vale.

As they enter the city, they split up to gather information and Shay eventually comes upon a store in the process of being robbed and he sees a girl kick one of the robbers out the window "Get her!" The apparent leader yells and they all rush her. Shay draws his ACR and opens fire, dropping two of the thieves.

"Need any help?" He asks the girl and shoots another as he is charged by the biggest of them "yeah, thanks!" She calls and much to Shay's shock, bursts into rose petals, zipping around the battle "engagement started, requesting back up." Shay calls over his radio and unloads the last half of his clip into the man charging him

"They're getting away!" Shay calls and gives chase to the man in white, ending up on a roof top with the man in white aiming a cane at the girl in red, shay dives to knock her out of the way but the shot is stopped my a field of energy, a blonde woman having appeared to our aid and shortly drives the thieves off

"Come with me, both of you." She orders, I follow, reluctant to engage her in combat, my transponder active so my team can follow as we board what is apparently called a bullhead and are taken to be questioned, my weapons are taken though they say they will be returned.

"Is there a reason we're here?" I ask as we are sat at a table, and the woman is reprimanding us for our reckless behavior, "you are here because you put your selves and others at great risk. If it were up to me you would both be sent home with a pat on the back..." the then smacks the table baking the girl beside me jump "and a slap on the wrist. But since it isn't up to me, there is someone here who wishes to speak to you."

Then, a man with gray hair and brown eyes steps forward "Thank you Glynda." He says and turns to the girl and me "Ruby Rose, you...you both have silver eyes." He says astonished "ok." The girl who I now know as Ruby and I say, not understanding his bewilderment

"And you have brown eyes." I say to him earning a chuckle "that I do." Is his response. He then turns back to Ruby, "where did you learn to do this?" He asks and sets a plate of cookies infront of Ruby, which she devoures "because the only other scyth user I know is a dusty old crow." Ruby then jumps up "that's merh uncre!" She then swallows, "Sorry. That's my uncle, he taught me everything I know."

"And you young man, where did you get weapons like these? Able to pierce a man's aura like paper." He says and shows a video of the two of us fighting "what? They're just guns." I say as he furrows his brow, "I'll make this short, do you wish to attend Beacon?" Ruby resounds her yes but I am sceptical "you will be given a dorm and food, and the ability to hone your skills." Ozpin says "I'm in too." I say and shake his hand. Tomorrow I can meet up with my team and try to make sense of this strange new world.

A/N: For future reference I will try to make my other chapters much better and longer, I think this turned out well for being written in two hours. Also, should I stay in 3rd person or tell it from Shay's PoV? I'm leaning toward Shay's PoV my self.

And please make any comments you can to help me improve, this is my first attempt at writing a book.
