Do you know what it's like to fall in love? Well for Faith Naeata she never knew that feeling or felt that feeling at all. She never felt love until her 18th birthday, but that's not until later. Now Faith is 16 years old and the closest thing she's felt to love was her weekly crushes. You know the usual, but there was 2 things she loved more than crushes and that's singing... and family. The thing is that her family never loved her back. They couldn't. Faith's father died in the military. He took a job to pay for Faith's mother's chemotherapy. Before that he was a musician. He'd play hours on end to provide for his wife and Faith's older sister Rose, but after Faith was born her mother was diagnosed with Breast cancer, but she was also pregnant with Faith's younger sister Jane. So when he was stationed in Iraq his 2 kids, wife and unborn child were at home with Faith's mother undergoing chemotherapy. It was hard for him to leave his family, to choose between his child or wife, but, what he did possibly saved his daughter Jane's life. Her mother lived through the birth of Jane, even though she had cancer. When their father died they couldn't afford the chemotherapy. Faith tried to help. She learned how to play ukulele and guitar from her father. She did what her father did, but that only earned only about $5.73 cents a day $10 if accompanied by Faith's and Rose's voices. Their mother appreciated the thought but that couldn't save her. When Rose, Faith, and Jane were 8, 7, and 6 they were left parent less and I don't know how it's possible but it got worse. None of their family wanted them. This is because both Rose and Faith were born out of wedlock. They were thought to be a disgrace to their mother's family because they were christian. They threw out their daughter when she was pregnant, and when their fathers family found out they were both shunned. So this left the three nowhere to go but to the foster program, and unfortunately they were split, thought to never see each other again. 9 years later faith still holds hope of once again having a family.
After many foster and group homes nothing stuck. Nothing, well, except for the one thing- singing. I know what you're gonna say. No friends? Well that wasn't there from the beginning. He's more in the middle. What stuck, was music. Faith has been a musician her entire life. She learned from her father. It basically kept her alive through her unbearable foster homes . Her countless foster parents were abusive, alcoholic and only took her in because they were broke and "needed" the cash the government gave for fostering a child to buy drugs and drinks. They'd make her clean, cook, shop for groceries, everything an adult would do or should do. Then at night they'd abuse her both physically with their fists, and verbally with their words. Faith's life was harder with foster parents than without her real parents. Then one day at school when faith was in one of her worse Foster homes she met a very handsome young man named Max Foster.
