Today we were having a balloon release for Meme. I wasn't feeling good and my eyes werte still puffy from crying.
"Cyn come on !" 23 yelled from the living room
My dad said he's going to be out of town for these past two weeks and I don't know why his bald ass head thinks it's okay. So for now, I had the boys and Bookie over here with me.
I haven't spoken to Riri since what she said and I didn't know how things would turn out when I saw her today. I understood her hurt and I don't blame her for what she said.
"Stop rushing me I'm coming." I put my hair in a ponytail before sliding my ray bands on my face
I walked out of my room and looked to see everyone standing by the door. I tucked my phone in my pocket and we all walked out.
"Boy it's hot and it's fucking October." Quan frowned
"If it rain tomorrow, I'm gon be pissed cause I get my hair fix tomorrow." Bookie said
I locked my front door and got in the passenger seat as Ace was the driver.
"Watchu getting done ?" I asked her
"Anything but this dry ass bob she got." Quan touched it before quickly moving his hand
"Don't play with me Tre'Von, but I'm either getting some braids or a silk press."
"Get a silk press, I like your real hair." I told her
"You mean she got hair under this ?" Rj asked
"Why y'all trying to play me like I'm bald or sum, I'm nun like them chicken head hoes y'all be fucking."
"First of all, I don't fuck chicken head hoes except Cyn." Ace jumped in the conversation making them laugh
"I'll crash this bitch, don't play with me." I eyed him
"Ooooh, Cynthia think she running shit." Quan said from the back seat "Handle dat big brudda."
"Gotchu lil brudda." Ace nodded
"Y'all weird." Bookie stated
"Nah y'all some weird cousins." Rj said "How both of y'all don't eat motherfucking greens ?"
"Cause it's nasty." I spoke
"Exactly, why you worried bout what we eat ?" Bookie asked him
"Cause ya ain't black that's why." Quan said
"Y'all eat cabbage though." Ace spoke
"So the fuck what." I rolled my eyes
"Ace she rolled her eyes, I just know her smart ass rolled her eyes." Rj said
"Shut up 13." I flicked him off
"Aye respect my number, it's 23." He grabbed my ponytail yanking it
"Get the hell off me." I swatted his hands away
"Fuck off my cousin." I heard a smack
"Aye can y'all act civilized for ten minutes, we here." Ace said as he pulled up to where the release was being held
He parked his car and we all got out. I fixed my shirt before walking next to Ace towards the crowd. Meme's mama spotted me and she came over giving me a long hug.
"It's okay baby, it's not your fault." She rubbed my back "I still and will always love you. Forgive Reonna, she doesn't know how to take it."
"It's fine mama." I told as I hugged her back
She let go and I wiped the tear the fell down her cheek. She walked back towards her family members and I saw Riri. She looked at me before turning away.
Meme family members started passing out balloons to everyone and Rj started complaining cause he felt like his balloon was too small.
"It's just a balloon, shut up." Ace told him
"You shut up, I want my balloon as big as yo fucking head. Ole megamind head ass."
"Stop cussing." Bookie told him
"Girl, mind yo damn business."
"Who the fuck you talking to ?"
"Oh my god, cut it out." I said trying not laugh
They stopped bickering and got quiet as Meme mama started to talk. After she finished, a prayer was said and we got ready to release our balloons.
"Alright on three, we're gonna release our balloons." She spoke "One, tw—"
"Can I get another one mama ?" Quan asked making me look back
"How yo balloon gone ?" Ace asked him as they gave him another one
"I let it go too early." He shrugged
"Alright on three Quan." Meme mama said making everybody laugh "One, two, three !"
We let the balloons go and everyone shouted things to the sky as others recorded the balloons flying away. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around seeing Riri.
She engulfed me in a hug and I was shocked for a moment before hugging her back. I felt her sniffle and I hugged her tighter.
"I'm sorry I swear I am." She said "I wasn't right in the head and that still don't make up for nun that I said to you. You and Bookie all I have now and I don't wanna lose y'all either."
"It's okay Riri, I forgive you." I told her "I'm not gon let that get in the way of our friendship. I'd be mad at myself too."
"Y'all made back up ?" Rj walked over to us "Good, let's go eat now."
"You is ridiculous." I laughed at him as Riri wiped her face
"Swear, but aye I gotta talk to y'all bout sum." She looked at the boys
Ace and 23 nodded as Quan stood there confused.
"Bout wh— Oooh you wanna shoot niggas ?" He leaned his head back
"Boy shut up." Bookie hit his arm as a couple people looked our way
"I'm just making sure." He shrugged before we all walked back to Ace car
