Prologue

"Soo how's Brody?" Marie asked Leila as we got ready to go on a picnic with our guys. We didn't really have to ask. The answer is always the same, "Perfect, he's the one.". Leila beamed as Leila put in her earrings. I turned to Marie, "What about you? How's Cay?" I raised an eyebrow and her face turned sour. "Very funny Jackie! But Caleb and I are best friends, just like the two of you." I laughed and turned back to the mirror and fixed my hair. "Yeah best friends who made out in a hot tub freshman year." Leila muttered. Even Marie couldn't help but laugh at the fact that Leila had pointed out.

"Very true. So you know you have him there as a fall back? That's sweet of you." I covered my words with sarcasm. "Yeah? Well..at least I have someone I could date! When are you even going to talk to a guy other than Caleb or Brody?" Marie retorted. When you've been friends this long, (since birth), you can pretty much say whatever you want to each other.

"Well then I..I don't know! This is our summer before senior year! Excuuuse me if I don't want to be tied down for that!" I said, hoping they'd believe my excuse. "Uh huh." Marie said, she didn't believe me but she let it go. "You're gorgeous though Jack, so if you ever want to go out and meet guys, I'll help you scope them out. With Brody and I's help..," She nonchalantly snaked Brody into the plan, "I bet we'd find your soul mate before midnight!" She joked, and I smiled back at her.

"Guys really, I'm fine. I just want to go out tonight. Relax, and forget all the stress from this past week." I said unplugging my straighter. "Exams were killer." Leila commented. Marie fished something out of her back pack, "I think I know just the thing to help relax you, Jackie." As she held a plastic baggy full of herb. "You got weed..for our picnic?" I asked slowly. Marie grinned proudly and waved the bag back and forth. "Yup!" I sighed and rested my head in my hands. "I remember when you used to be the innocent one..." Leila said quietly. "What have we done." I said not looking up. Marie just laughed and looked at her phone. "They're here!"
