Best Friends

She's upset

About her day

Heads for the only place

She feels

Safe enough to stay

Surrounded by

Her favorite things,

Her best friends,

And her worst enemies.

She reaches for

Her last resort

The only spot

Left untouched,

She pushes down

And feels the sting

Silent screams,

Is anybody listening?

Blood rushes down,

She cuts some more.

It's not enough,

Her heart's still sore.

She stands up,

looks at her ugly self,

Covered in blood

So pretty now

"Stupid."

"Ugly."

Her friends whisper in her ear,

They know her so well,

With them it's clear

She needs to change

She needs to be better

She needs to stop

Everything.

To be how they want her to be

All those lies

Become the truth.

She skips a meal,

She throws it up,

Whatever she does

Is never enough.

For them.

She hates her friends,

But listens to every word they say.

She hates herself

Can't find a way

Out

Out of her mind

Out of this life.

Her best friends become a part of her.

It becomes a daily routine,

To do what they say

They control her,

She hates them.

But soon enough,

It'll all be too late

To get rid of them,

Her best friends,

Her worst enemies,

The voices, the monsters.

They'll take her with them

And finally

she'll be

Happy.

Away from the pain,

Away from the hurt,

Just numb.

With them,

Where she can't feel anything,

Can't hear anything.

She's just...

There.
