She sits there,
Alone.
Selfish.
Caring so much
But at the same time,
Only about herself.
She looks in the mirror,
And hates what she sees.
She ignores all the voices
And listens to her mind.
Turning away all her meals
And soon she finds,
She's hurting everyone,
But she's hurting too.
"Fat."
"Ugly."
The voices get louder
Until
It's too much to bear.
Heart aching.
Eyes stinging.
Another skipped meal.
"You look so skinny"
The only thing she likes to hear.
Lies.
Lies.
Lies.
They are all lies.
The mirrors,
Became her friend.
The scale,
Becomes the only thing she trusts.
Everything else.
Everyone else,
Hide the truth.
Until all she's left with
Is her body,
And the lies.
