*Lisanna's pov*

I sat in the bleachers in the gym, watching the cheerleaders do whatever new cheer they'd come up with for yet another pointless pep rally. Nobody cared for the pep rallies anymore, not after Jareth quit the team. Even the cheerleaders couldn't mask their boredom.

"Do you think Jareth will ever join the team again?"

"Alis, what are you talking about?"

"Ever since he quit, even the cheer routines are getting sad."

"True. But nobody can force Jareth to join the team again. He said he didn't want to play."

"I know. He said it to the entire school."

"Alissendra, are you still mad at him for quitting the team?"

"What? No. Lisanna, you're crazy. Still mad at Jareth for quitting football? That's just...... why would you say that?"

I knew she was lying. Alissendra was Jareth's ex girlfriend. She'd been thinking about joining the cheerleading squad until Jareth quit playing football. After he left, she changed her mind about cheering.

Alissendra wanted Jareth back but he didn't even acknowledge her presence anymore. So I knew she was mad at him. But i knew she was also still hurt. They hadn't ended on good terms. They'd gotten into a fight, both being drunk, and he'd told her he didn't want to be with her anymore. I'd driven Alissendra home after that and we'd been friends since then.

"Lisanna, do you think Jareth and I will get back together?"

"I honestly have no idea. But if you want him back, you have to at least try."

"Right........"

"I'll help you, Alis."

I don't know why I was offering to to help her. Even if we were friends, we barely talked. But I'd said I'd help her, so that's what I would do.
