Charlies pov :
I tossed and turned as my alarm sounded with the harsh sunlight pouring in my room, putting my pillow over my ears trying to suck in just a few more moments of rest.

"Charlotte!! Charlotte get up! I have to go and so do you!" my mom yelled as her footsteps pounded on the stairs.

My door swings open as I sit up in my bed to see my mother fully dressed with her hair pulled back into a low ponytail and makeup done up.

"Charlotte you cant keep doing this! next week I will have to be out of the house by five so unless you would like to be up everyday by five you need to start waking up to your alarm by 9! it shouldn't be that hard most kids your age are up and getting ready for school by seven and you don't even know how to get your bum out of bed by 9!" she lectured me sternly.

"okay okay whatever mom" I responded as I rolled my eyes

another one of her long speeches about how most kids my age do this or that and how I should be doing this not that.

Im so sick of it, the way she feels the need to sneak in a reminder that I will never be like other people my age in every sentence she speaks.

"oh and Charlotte I left money on the counter, I have meetings booked up in Phoenix until next week" She said softly as she exited my room.

Im sort of used to my mom popping in my room just to tell me how she has to fly out and won't be home for a few days or even a few weeks.

Its basically second nature at this point, I don't think I can remember a time she was home for more than a month.

Until last year it wasn't so bad, it was actually a lot of fun because I would get to hang out with my brother all day and sometimes we would go to restaurants or throw cool parties but that all stopped when my brother Josh went off to college last year and since then its been really calm its not bad but I really miss throwing parties with all his senior friends and causing trouble in stores and restaurants even if it meant getting banned from a couple malls.

Every now and then I have friends over but all my friends go to high school and have other thing to worry about like college and tests or whatever, then theres me

Im stuck in this house all day hoping that maybe leukemia will end up killing me sooner
