Death's Return

Apologies part 1

As she followed Law to the sleeping quarters, Shiki covered her mouth as she let out a long yawn, closing her eyes as she did. Not noticing that Law had stopped in front of a particular door while she had walked pass him.

Captain meowing at her when he noticed that his human wasn't stopping.

Stopping at the sound, Shiki tiredly opened her eyes to look over her shoulder. Seeing a smirking Law behind her, his form resting against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest and feet crossed over the other, Shiki raised a brow.

If she could recalled, the room he was leaning next to was...

Law was expecting to see a look of shock from her but what he got was eyes dimming in disappointment and a disappointed 'Oh' sighed out.

She was really hoping to cuddle with a teddy bear.

"Appreciate the enthusiasm, Shiki-ya." Law sarcastically said, pushing off the wall with Shiki following into his room.

Law watched from the door as Shiki placed her things to the side and shrugged off her coat with care before sitting on the edge of his bed, leaning down to take off her heels.

"Awfully calm sleeping in the same bed with a man, aren't you?" he observed. The ship's cat leaping onto his bed as well, patiently waiting.

Law couldn't help but frown at the extra roommate he presumed would be joining them from now on.  

She shrugged, placing herself under his sheets then scooping up Captain in her arms, pulling them to lay down on their sides, "It's not like I expect you to try something," she started, curling herself around her cat, "and even if you try something weird..." she wasn't sure how to say it without offending him but decided to go with,  "I've got ways to deal with that."

The pirate captain couldn't help but narrow his eyes at that, "And how, if I may ask, do you plan to deal with it?" he sarcastically questioned.

She closed her eyes, nuzzling the tip of her nose between Captain's ears, "I've got a dagger made out of sea stone strapped to my leg as well as thought up of at least 4 different ways to disable you and your devil fruit abilities." she confessed with a sleepy mumble, her lashes brushing her cheeks every time she tiredly blink.

There was silence in the room as Shiki closed her eyes, until footsteps came near her. The blanket pulled away from her, revealing her curled up position. 

She didn't flinch even when Law lifted up her left pant leg up, revealing the concealed dagger that was strapped to her calve.

"Confiscated." Law stated with a glare as he removed her concealed weapon and holder before covering her up in the blanket.

Shiki nodded absentmindedly.

Fair enough. 

Now that she had properly joined a pirate crew and there was nothing holding her back, things were going to change. Reflecting on her past actions, she wasn't going to withhold anything back anymore.

"Law." she sleepily mumbled out.

The pirate captain grunted, placing the sea stone dagger in a locked draw.

She let out a relaxed breath as she whispered out a, "Goodnight."

She received no answer, but only the closing of the door as Law left the room, leaving her to take her nap.
