My name is Avery. I am a normal 14 year old girl who loves hanging out with friends, shopping, texting, the normal. I have a normal family, a mom, a dad, and a sister. Well actually my family isn't that normal. My younger sister is 12, her name is Samantha but she goes by Sammy... Sammy has Down Syndrome. She is a little short for her age and she well doesn't exactly look like all of the other kids but it doesn't bother her one bit. She has lots of language and learning issues.

That's why when she could finally start school when she was 10 we had to move from our beach front house, in sunny Florida where everyday I would go and play at the beach and run in the waves. But then my parents made the announcement that she was pulling me out of my small private school and we were moving to Kansas so that Sammy could go to school. "Honey, we just want Sammy to be a normal kid and go to school like a normal kid" my parents would tell me. " why does she have to ruin EVERYTHING? She just gets in our way!!!! Why does she have to be like thAt?" But when i said that I never knew how she would really impact my life.
