He was watching me, I could feel it. His glare sliced through me like the edge of a sharp knife. I tried to pretend he wasn't there, that he didn't exist, but I could feel his presence. He was always there in the background, lingering. Like my shadow he never left me alone, even on the darkest days. Wherever I go he would follow like a lost soul. The piece of chocolate cake sat untouched on my plate and I quickly picked up my fork before the other girls noticed. I didn't have to look directly at him to know that he was approaching because I could see from the corner of my eye that he was getting closer. My heart rate accelerated because I knew he was coming for me and I knew he wasn't happy with my decision tonight. He stood by me, but I didn't dare look up at him. I could almost feel the angry vibes radiating from his body in waves. My mouth was dry and I was terrified. With the fork in my hand, I carefully extended my arm out knowing that this move would definitely agitate him, but I took my chances. And surely enough before I knew it, he was hovering above me and knocked the fork out of my grasp.
As I was reaching to pick it up, he stepped over it with his big black boot and slid it under the table. He was not pleased. I lifted my head up slowly and looked at him to find that he was staring right back at me.
"Don't...you....dare!" he threatened.
