Getting Close To The Gangleader

Chapter 10

"And you really think Lizabelle is going to just forget all that's happened. She's been through a lot and it's not just going to go away that easy. You brought us-"

"No! Don't you dare blame me! I made it very clear that once you got involved with me people were going to come after you. Very bad people...but you didn't listen. You chose to come after me even after I told you your sister could be put in danger."

"Fine. I admit that I'm at fault but how can you live with yourself knowing you put your brother through all this. Knowing he's constantly in danger."

"That's enough! Shut up before I do something I won't regret."

I look back at Aaron and see him looking at Zander with hate. I look back at Zander and see him looking back at me. I turn around and walk toward Aaron. I grab his hand and pull him away. We get into a car and we sit there for a while not doing anything. He grabs my face and makes me face him.

"Are you okay?"

"He's right. How can I live with myself knowing that Gabriel is in constant danger? I mean he's grown up in this life and he knows the risk but he's so small you know. He's not really getting to live his childhood and I don't want him to be shut off and empty like me. I don't want him to be in this life when he grows up."

"Ana you've done an amazing job raising your brother. Despite you being in the gang you make time for him and he knows it. Everyone helps out because we know it's hard but that's what makes us a family. So don't let a stupid guys words make you feel different because you're an amazing person."

I hug him tightly and he hugs me back just as tight. I pull apart and he turns the car on. He starts driving and I don't know where he's taking me but at this point I don't really care.

I wake up to someone shaking me. I crack my eyes open and stretch. When I sit up I see that we're at the beach.

"Why are we here?"

"I just wanted to swim and we haven't been here for a while."

"But I don't have a bathing suit with me."

"That's why there are things called stores. I'll buy you one come on."

      I sit up and get out of the car. Aaron puts his arm around me and we walk into one of the nearby stores. I went into the dressing room and decided on a cute but simple two piece bikini. I left it on and grabbed a pair of sandals along with some shades and a towel. I brought them all to the register. When I'm about to pay Aaron comes just in time and pays for everything. I look over at him with narrow eyes and flick him on the forehead. We exit the store and head over to a spot on the sand. I lay my towel out and sit on it looking out to the ocean. Aaron sits next to me on his towel and looks at me.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing. It's just...Zander can be really frustrating sometimes you know. He has no right to say that...I mean why does he care about Gabriel it's not like I go and tell him how to parent Lizabelle."

"Just let it go. You know he didn't mean it. He was just mad and felt offended. You don't know what was going through his head so I think you should talk with him."

"Thanks."

"Hey, that's what best friends are for."

    I give him a side hug and then get up. I stretch my hand out to him and he grips it tightly. I pull him up and we both go into the water and have fun.
     When we get out I grab my towel and dry myself. I  lay it down on the ground and lay on top of it. I look up at the sky and then turn my head so I'm looking at Aaron.

"I'm going to go get something to drink. Do you want anything?"

"Yeah. Can you get me some water."

"Sure. I won't be long."

   He walks away and I direct my attention back to the ocean. Only about 30 seconds go by when someone sits on the towel next to me.

"Did you forget something?"

     I don't get a response back so I look at the person next to me. I see a unfamiliar guy sitting next to me and he's just looking at me.

"Um...can I help you?"

"Wow, you don't recognize me?"

"Am I supposed to?"

"Last time I saw you I think you were here with your brother. I'm the guy who gave you their number and you never called."

"Oh, now I remember you. Sorry about that. What was your name?"

"It's fine. My name is Chris. So are you still single?"

    I'm about to answer him when I see him looking behind me. So I look back and guess who I find? It's Zander and he's talking to another girl. I see him look over where I'm sitting and smirks as he sees me looking at him. Just like that he goes back to looking at the girl and proceeds to put his arm around her waist pulling her closer to him. I decide to ignore him and just pay attention to Chris.

"You wanna know something? I am single. So that means...I can do whatever I want."

I look over at Chris and smile seductively at him. I sit on his lap facing him and start kissing him. While we're kissing I look over at Zander and see him glaring at us. I smile into the kiss and start grinding on him. I smile as I hear Chris groan and I start kissing him again. I break the kiss to get some air and he starts kissing my neck. When I'm about to moan he flips us over so I'm laying on the towel and he's hovering above me. He's smiling down at me and I'm slightly panting as I look up at him. I'm too focused on him to notice someone standing in front of us.

"What is going on?"

"Oh! Um...nothing. We were just talking."

"Really? And what were you guys talking about that requires him to be hovering over you?"

"Just go wait in the car. I'll meet you there in a minute."

"Or in an hour."

"Aaron! Just go wait for me."

"Fine. Just don't take long."

He walks away and I'm left alone with Chris. I look over where Zander was and see he wasn't there anywhere but the girl was flirting with another guy. I sit up and look at Chris.

"Sorry but I have to go. Until next time I guess."

"Wait. Aren't you gonna give me your number?"

   I walk away from him and walk to the parking lot. When I get there I search for Aaron's car and find it. I walk quickly to the car but before I can get inside someone gets in my way and I crash into their chest. I stumble backwards but they hold me up. I look up and there was Zander looking down at me with anger. I pull away from him and try walking past him but he won't let me pass.

"What is your problem? Let me get to Aaron!"

"My problem? I'm not the one who's making out with someone and grinding on them while being in a relationship."

"Yeah and you're going to tell me that the girl you had your arm around was going to just kiss you? Listen, I think we rushed things so you know what? We shouldn't have gotten into a relationship in the first place."

     I walk past him and get into Aaron's car while Zander stands in the same place. He seems to come back to his senses but it's too late because Aaron is already driving away.

"Wait! Ana come back! Ana!"

I look at him in the rear view mirror until he gets smaller and smaller.
