I looked across the drama theatre to see him staring at me again. That’s all he’s done for the past month, sit and stare. Okay, I may not be the prettiest and might be a bit of a geek…but that doesnt give the reason!

“What’s wrong with your face?” giggled Lola.

“Him over there…”I sighed, nodding towards him. She pursed her lips as she began sizing him up, seeing what he could possibly be after from me, her little midget gem Cesca.

“He’s not too bad. Attack with a pair of straighteners and give him some decent clothes…then he can be boyfriend material!”

“Scuse me? Who said anything about boyfriends?” I scoffed.

Lola smirked and we carried on regardless. As Miss Nichols gathered us to say how pleased she was with our work over the last 2 years and hoped we passed our GCSE with flying colours, I caught him staring again. This time, he smiled and then winked at me. I felt a little light headed after the wink; it was amazing. His green eyes stared directly into mine as we left the drama theatre to empty our lockers out before the bell.

“I’ll meet you down by the buses yeah?” I said to Lola, but she gave me evils then walked off. “Moody cow.” I mumbled.

“D’you want a bodyguard to walk you home, babe?” he smirked.

“What d’you want…babe?” I asked sarcastically.

“Nothing. Well…I do want to know what you’re doing tonight.” he winked.

I pouted my lips and placed my finger on my chin, in a mock-thinking pose.

“Fuck all…and I intend to keep it that way!” I sad bluntly, walking to my locker. Turning my key, I was greeted with a piece of paper with ‘Call me later - Nath x’and a number scribbled on it dangling in front of me.

“Well take it then.” he laughed.

I rolled my eyes as I slammed the locker shut and squared up to him. He was slightly taller than me, but I still stood my ground.

“Look, I’m not interested…Nathan. Why don’t you fuck off and harass someone else?!”

He didn’t say a word; he didn’t move a muscle. Nathan stayed rooted to the spot, and I had to bite the inside of my lip to stop me leaning over and kissing him. I wanted to hate him, I really did, but he was melting me like I was a piece of ice. I rolled my eyes, tutted and walked away. I couldn’t hear footsteps behind me, so I assumed he’d finally got the message. Lola’s peroxide blonde hair caught my eye, so I ran to catch up with her. I slowed down immediately when I realised who she was walking with. My blood boiled as I listened to them flirting like crazy.

“Oh Nathan, you’re hilarious! I don’t understand why Cesca hates you so much.” she giggled, constantly touching his arms.

“She doesn’t. Little Franny loves me…she’s just scared to admit it.” he smirked.

That was when I blew up.

“Lola, I’m not sure Ryan wil be too happy when he hears you’ve been flirting with…pricks like him! He’s not funny, he’s just trying to get in your knickers, and you’d realise that if you had some sense! And you…” I rounded on Nathan.

He was still smirking like the smug little fucker he is. God he winds me up!

“I do hate you…no, in fact I DESPISE you. I don’t love you and I never will! And never call me ‘Little Franny’ ever again.”

Nathan opened his mouth to say something cocky, but he didn’t get that far. I slapped him across the face.

“Cesca!” gasped Lola.
