I'm not a prostitute

Start from the beginning

In some interviews they told us how they celebrated every festival with joy, how they dealt with the new comers afterall at the end of the day all they had was each other. Certainly it was enough for our tv screen but none of them were satisfying for me. The motto of this flim was to change the aspect but to my dismay what we got was a sneak peak of their life not enough to change the society's aspect.

Suddenly my phone rang which caused me to take a break from my thoughts. I took my phone out saw my mom was calling.

"Hello." I said in a disappointing tone.

"Why are you sounding like that sweety? Is everything alright?" she asked.

"Nothing is fine, mom. I'm feeling like I chose this topic for no reason. I should have listened to you at first. All the things I got are not just the thing I'm looking for. My first short flim is going to be a flop. Congrats to me."

"Come on now, young lady! I didn't raise you for that. Just have faith cause you know even miracle takes time to happen." She said.

I laughed at her words." You and you Cinderella craze."

Suddenly my eyes fell on a girl standing just some blocks away. It felt like she was looking at my direction. After some minutes of staring contest the girl suddenly turned her back and started to walk away from there.

"Mom, I'll talk to you later. Bye." I hung up the call without waiting for her answer.

"Hey, hey! Wait." I hurriedly went after her.

As a respond to my call, she stopped right at her place. I came infront of her. The girl was really young though her dressing style and the makeup was making her look more older than her real age. Indeed the girl was really beautiful and the makeup made her flawless. I could very well feel her hesitation but did not know why I felt she wanted to talk to me.

"Hi. I'm Summer." I said and extended my hand for her to shake. She stared at my hand for some moment then hesitantly forwarded her hand too.

"I'm Ramisa." She said meekly.

"Wow! That's really a beautiful name. Did your father give you that?"

"I don't remember." She said with her eyes glued on the ground.

"Oh. It's completely fine." I said.

She finally raised her head and looked at me." Are you a flim director?" she asked.

"Kind of but I only made documentary flims. This one will be my first short flim. Do you watch documentary flims?"

"No. I only watch Ranbir Kappor's flims. I really like him." She said with a smile on her face. The smile she gave was really beautiful. There were so much innocence in her face. She definitely did not belong here.

"Can I ask you something?" she asked.

"Sure. Go ahead." I assured.

"Will everyone see your movie ?" she again asked with hope of a positive answer.

"Yes. The whole world will be able to see this. We'll put this on internet."

"So that means if I say something my parents will see this too, right?"

"Do you miss your parents?" I asked.

"Yes, a lot. I didn't see them since I came here. I even lost counts of the day. It must have been years." She said with teary eyes.

"Will you tell me how you came here?" I asked cautiously.

As soon as those words left my mouth she began to cry hard. I really should not have asked her this but one thing I was sure that this girl was different than others. Maybe she was the miracle I was looking for.

"It's okay, It's completely fine. You don't have to tell me that. I can understand."

"No. I want to tell you. For the first time someone asked me that." She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and started to tell me her story.

"I was born in a poor family. My father was a day laborer and he had to manage our large family. Besides me I have three more siblings. Sometimes my mother used to work in other people's house to help my father. Though poverty was our companion, we were happy. Suddenly one day a man came to our house. He was looking for a maid. At first my parents were hesitated to send their children to his house. Being the elder child of the house I decided to help my parents. After some days the man again came to our house to take me. I still remember my mother's face that day. She was constantly crying and my siblings were against my decision. For the first time in my life, I saw my father in tears. It was really heartbreaking for me to see this sight but I made a promise that soon there will be smile on their face." She took a pause again started to tell me her story

"The journey from my home to here was really comfortable. I saw so many tall buildings, bridges and many things which I never thought would exist. My first reaction to see this place was really disgusting. I thought this man really doesn't have any choice. He told me to wait for him in a room. The room had only a light and a single bed. I was waiting for him. Several hours passed but he didn't come. Then suddenly a much older man entered the room. He..h..e.. h..e..."

Ramisa broke into tears . I was just staring at her with shock. How could a person be so cruel? That person literally destroyed her whole childhood. Ramisa did not look more than 16 or 17 years old.

After regaining her composure she again said, "The man was looking really horrifying on the little light. I was constantly asking him who he was. He didn't say anything and next thing I can tell you that he raped me. It was so painful. My whole body was in pain. I screamed the whole night but no one came for my help. At morning a girl came to me and gave me some pain killers. Even one day I tried to run away from this place but they caught and tortured me the whole night. I didn't have any choice other than accepting this. I have accepted my fate because it's nearly impossible to get out from here." She finished with tears in her eyes. Being the emotional freak, my eyes were in tears too.

"Do you want to go away from here? I can help you." I said.

"To be honest I don't want to go away from here. I don't have the courage to face the society mostly my parents. No matter how much I say I'm not a prostitue but for the society I'm one. I feel so disgust of me now but can you help me in something?"

"Yeah. Sure, tell me. I'll try my best to help you."

"Can you give this to my parents? I wrote the address inside." she said and gave me a green envelope with some letters in it.

"I'll personally give them and are you sure you don't need anymore help?" I again asked with a hope that she would agree.

She smiled a little bit and said,"You are already doing a lot of things for me. Thank you so much. I really don't know if I'll get any chance to repay you."

"Well, you can repay me in a way."

"I'll try my best to do that"

With a serious face I asked her, "Will you be the miracle?"

3 weeks later.

Many things changed in this couple of days. I was getting  offers from many reputed production houses. My boss was happy with my work. More importantly what I wanted to show the society was successful. Atleast I thought so. Eventually Ramisa agreed to record her story. Her story was the main focus of my flim. As per as her request, her identity was kept anonymous.

"Hold on, hold on. Why are you packing your bags? Are you going somewhere?" my mom asked eyeing my backpack.

"Yeah. I thought the weather is good I should go for hiking."

"Then why are you packing bags? Tell me the truth,Summer."

"Geez! Mom, I'm just going to see Ramisa's parents. It's really something I can't neglect. Ramisa helped me a lot."

"Oh. Then I'll go with you too. Wait, let me go pack my things too. "

"Mom, why do you have to go there? I can take care of it by my own."

She stopped at her track and turned to face me with a smirk on her face."I know very well how helpless you are without me."

The glorious line. Now possibly what I could say after that line. I just laughed at her comeback .
