I've been avoiding Johnny the whole day today.
I doubt he even noticed because he's been too busy with Nadia but oh well.

I was standing near my locker putting my books away when Annie came running up to me.
By the time she stops next to me she's holding her sides and panting.

"Jeez, someones out of shape." I snicker and she gave me a glare.

"I had to tell you something." She says, panting loudly.

"Okay so tell me."

"Um...just, just don't let it bother you okay?"

I look at her, "Annie come on. It's fine just tell me."

She looks pained for a second and then sighs.
"It's better you hear it from me.
Apparently Johnny and Nadia were fucking in an empty classroom and a few girls walked in on them. The news has spread like wildfire."

You'd think I'd be used to disappointment by now, but the way my stomach dropped and insides churned with disgust, was a feeling that took my breath away every time.

"I..I'm not surprised." I say quietly.

"Apparently they're always fucking like rabbits, this is just the first time they've been walked in on and-oh sorry." Annie trailed off, seeing me grimace.

I hate the look of pity on her face.

"Anyways what's up with you and Hayden?" I clear my throat.
I wanted to steer the conversation away from Johnny and Nadia's fuckery.

Annie's face fell.
"Same old same old. Every time I get the feeling he likes me, I see him two minutes later locking lips with some other girl."

"Sheesh Annie that really sucks." I gave her a sympathetic look.

She shrugged.
"I'll be okay. I always am somehow." She sighed sadly and I felt really bad for my friend.

Suddenly the bell rang.
"I better get to class. I'll see you at lunch." She said before hopping off.

I sighed putting my textbook into my locker. I turned to see Nadia and Johnny walking to the Chemistry lab holding hands. He said something and she laughed and they were looking at each other like they were the only two people in the world.

I tore my eyes away, feeling a stabbing sense of jealousy in my heart.

I don't know when I would get used to seeing him with her.

I was just noting down math formulas in class when I suddenly felt a poke on my shoulder.

I turned to see Jacob,who always sits behind me, handing me a chit with a small smile on his face.
"that's for me?" I mouthed.
He nodded, the smile on his face widening.

I took the chit, turning around and opening it curiously.

You free today?
I figured we could hang ;)

I smiled and wrote back,

Sureee
What do you wanna do?

I handed it back to him and he scribbled back.

Something spontaneous and fun! How does cliff diving sound?

I smiled to myself and shook my head in amusement. He caught  my eye giving me a wink and I wrote  back,

Hmm..
A little too crazy don't you think? also my mom would kill me

Hahaha true..Okay then let's go Kayaking :)

I passed the chit back to him and he smiled.

To be honest I'm excited about my plans with him but I was wondering why he just called me and no one else.

Not like I mind though.
it'll be a good distraction from Johnny and Nadia.

After school I went straight back home, not bothering to wait for Johnny.
He takes his own sweet time to come out arm in arm with Nadia everyday. I told the girls about my plans with Jake and Ruby was the only was who wasn't okay with it.

She thought Jake asked me cause he "likes me" and I'm not supposed to like anyone except Johnny.

Well tough cause he has a girlfriend.
Anyways I'm pretty sure Jake doesn't like me that way.

"Mom I'm home!" I said, walking in through the front door and heading towards my room.

"Mom isn't home. How was school?" Maddie perked up, she was sitting on the counter of the kitchen eating sour patches.
I stole one from her and she frowned.

"It was okay." I shrug,"Just tell mom when she comes home that I'm going out." I said.
Maddie hopped off the counter.

"Where do you think you're going?" She demanded.

"Kayaking." I replied simply.
"With who?" She asks curiously.
"Jake.."I shrugged, stealing another sour patch.

"Who?" She said, scrunching her nose and snatching away the packet.

"Jake." I repeat.
"Jake better be a code name for Johnny cause I don't want you dating anyone else but him." She stated promptly and I felt a pinch of annoyance.

Johnny has a girlfriend for Christ's sake when was everyone going to understand!

"Well Johnny has a girlfriend." I narrowed my eyes and Maddie shook her head,"he doesn't look at her the same way he looks at you."

I shut my eyes and pinched the end of my nose, feeling exasperated.
"Jacob is my friend and I really just wanna have a fun day with him without having to think about Johnny and nadia okay?"

She nodded,"hmm okay."

"And Maddie?"
"Yeah?"
"Be nice." I say sternly, knowing how moody Maddie can be when she wants to.

She gave me a sour look and I shook my head in annoyance walking up to my room. Honestly! The sooner everyone I know gets off my back about Johnny the better. It was getting infuriating!

I looked (more like raid) through my closet and found a nice bikini that I paired with my blue denim shorts and a white shrug.
I tied my hair into a ponytail and put a scrunchy on my wrist. I took a quick look at myself in the mirror. hmm not too bad.
At that moment the bell rung.

Jacob must be here.

I grabbed my phone and ran downstairs so that I could get to him before Maddie starts interrogating him.
