'hey... it's noah. i just called to apologize. you didn't accept the call, so i'm assuming you're either busy or don't want to talk to me. if you could just call me or text me when you get the chance, that'd be great. ok, talk to you soon' and with that, the voicemail ended, leaving madelyn with nothing to listen to or no one to talk to. she laid back on her bed, closing her eyes and letting a few tears fall down the sides of her face.

a few hours later...

"WASSUP HOMIES IM HOME" i wake up to hear natalia yelling. my mom was probably still at work, so i don't know who she's yelling to. oh well. i lay back down on my bed. this time, covered up and in my sleeping position. i hear my door open and close my eyes. i really didn't feel like talking, so i just pretended to sleep.

"WASSUP SI-" natalia yells before getting cut off by a patting sound. i open my eye slightly to see someone, with their back turned to me, covering natalia's mouth. the person shushes my sister and they go out of my room, being sure to close the door behind them. a few minutes later, my phone pings.
