I sat my Iron helmet neatly upon my head as I stuck my left foot into my Iron boot. We really are living the high-life right now; our own shelter, our own mine, our own little armory, our own little army. Mind you, a loyal army. It really couldn't get better than this, could it?
"Ready?" I ask her with a nod.
She readies her iron sword and adjusts her Iron helmet as she nods back.
Just the confirmation I was looking for.
"Let's go to the arena, then." I say; and with that, we warped back to the spawn. We approached the edge-line going into the battle area, gripping our weapons something fierce. With our target still on hand, we watched him like an eagle, waiting for just the right moment to attack..
We followed him back into the wooded area, carefully stepping around the pond leading us the those depths. We knew the area well, there was a dead-end up ahead. He'd have to turn back anyway, so our stealth is pretty pointless.. But let's keep the element of surprise.
Drawing closer and closer to him, we can hear his footsteps with every movement. We can see he's getting so close to the end. It's time for us to intervene. I took one giant leap and swung my sword from above my head down onto his shoulder. He looked shook, but nevertheless, he twisted his body to be facing us off. He took a swing at me, but I jumped back, just in the knick of time.
"We win this time, Carter." I say with a giggle. "Right?"
I looked over at my partner in crime as she nodded, but that was a bad decision made on my part. Carter ran full speed and thwacked me with his sword, sending me backward. It damaged some of my armor, but I'll be fine. My partner in crime acted like it was the killing shot, though. She pounced and started rapidly swinging at Carter like he was some wild animal.. Or maybe, like she was some wild animal?
"You guys tryin'a kill me?" Carter said smugly. "I have all Diamond, you know? How do you suppose that'll go?"
He swerved his way around her as she was still swinging and managed to turn and flick his sword, knicking her right in the back.
"We'll see, rich boy." I say loudly, diving for the kill. I swung for his head, but he was quick to react by jumping to his side, successfully dodging my attack. He's like a cat, quick and selfish.. The three of us came to a standstill when we heard the sounds of others approaching. I looked over at my partner, and she looked over at me. She knew what to do..
We both ran at Carter and started swinging our swords in every which way, making sure if one of us didn't land a hit, the other one did. He had to choose one of us to attack... And that's exactly what he did. He started hitting me with his Diamond sword relentlessly, and my health started rapidly decreasing. At this rate, I was surely gonna get killed. He would credit himself for my defeat, but if I distract him enough.. I started jumping back and forth to keep him swinging at me. My health was taking a much less severe hit to it, but I was still dying.. But as long as she can finish this for me.. That'll be okay. We're a team. If she wins, I win too.
In a sudden act of fear, Carter started jumping up and down, then began hopping away, trying to escape from our swords of fury. He's close to death, but isn't willing to accept it.. We'll just have to ensure he's forced to own it this time. By facing it.
I kicked off with a running start before I started hopping alongside him, swinging with every speckle of energy I had into his thick, helmeted dome. But, all it took was one swat before I dropped dead, losing my armor, my weapon, and my dignity. I.. was killed, in action.. Oh. Oh, wait. Wait. One second. One sec- okay, okay. Okay, I'm back. Let me just dig through my chest to get another weapo- what, wait no? No sword? Just a sti- okay, stick it is. Okay, the armor, the armo- NONE of my helmets and armor are- wait, I gave her my last one. Okay, okay.. No armor either, I guess..
With no time to waste, I warped back to the arena and treaded carefully back into the wooded area. I see my partner has been holding her own pretty well. She's kept her distance, and he's crouching behind grass. He's close to his own defeat, and I can taste it already.. I crouched behind a fallen tree, watching carefully both of their next moves.. I have to think of a way to grab her attentio- oh hey, she sees me. I did my best to signal her, but it's no use with both of us holding our weapons. But I think she gets the idea of what I want to happen. She starts to trace a circle moving toward him, Carter instinctively starts doing the same thing going away from her. Waiting for the right moment to jump out. To attack him from behind was quite the struggle. It's obvious Carter's on edge.. But he finally got his back turned away from me. My partner starts walking toward him, practically forcing him to walk backward. What a clever girl.
I took the opportunity that was handed to me and jumped over the fallen tree, and started thwacking him with my little stick. I'm actually kinda surprised it's holding so well. The same thing goes for his noggin. His armor is shot, so this is doing full damage everywhere, including his head.
One hit, and he turns around.
The second hit, she starts attacking from behind.
Third hit, he turns back around.
Fourth hit, we're both beating him.
Fifth hit, his fight was worthless. He was killed.
I picked up the Diamond sword he'd once fought with and donned it with pride.
"We did it!!" I said, jumping up and down. "I did it with a stick!!"
We were both laughing and smiling, jumping up and down, but that was quickly put to a hush when we heard even more noise coming our way. We saw a glimpse of blue armored boots before they just went poof. They were no longer visible. We were left staring at the way we came and at each other. I held the Diamond sword tight, right against my hip, ready to go, and she was already in her stance.
Nothing's happening, though.
Maybe it was just our paranoia?
We're probably scared he'll come back. It's nothing.
*crick*
