Chapter 1
"Stella!" Mom called from the house. Stella was in her tree reading her book as usual.
"Stella come here now!" Her Mother yelled.
Stella hopped off the tree messing up her only pair of stockings and ripping a hole in them too.
"Yes mama?" Stella said.
"Look what you did! Your ripped your only stockings! We can't afford this, your fifteen be sensible for once!" Mom exclaimed.
"Yes ma'am." Stella frowned.
"Go to the store and get some milk,and flour for me." Mom smiled.
"But change first, you look like a hooligan." Mom walked over to the crying toddler.
Stella got in the carriage and rode to town.
"I don't know pa, this town just seems awfully different from the last one." Nicholas frowned.
"I'm sorry son but I have a good job here." His dad sighed.
Warren, the young six year old, jumped up and down with excitement.
"Yay! New home!"
Nicholas glared as warren cheered happily, holding his cane close.
His older brother just watched out the back of the buggy quietly.
"Here we are." His Pa said.
All three boys frowned at the small town.
"Okay then boys, start unloading and putting it in my shop." pa said.
Stella walked up to the shop to buy her groceries as Nicholas was unloading.
He turned, bumping into her and knocking her over.
Little did she know she forgot to re-fix her hair,change her clothes,and wash the dirt off her face.
Nicholas stumbled, barely catching himself with his cane.
"S-sorry miss, I should have watched where I was going."
Stella just blushed and wiped the dust off her skirt.
She gasped really loud realizing she didn't change, she just stared at him speechless.
"And what's your name miss?" Nicholas reached out his hand to shake hers.
"S-Stella, I really am sorry." "Nicholas." He said. Warren ran over happily, jumping up and down.
"Look Pa! A new friend!"
"H-how did you know my name?" She asked.
Nicholas pointed the the paper on her shirt that said Stella.
Warren laughed "Nicholas gots a girlfriend! Come look!"
Brendan walked over and took the bags from Nicholas, who was blushing.
"It's not true! I just bumped into her!"
Warren wiggled his eye brows, making Nicholas grid his teeth.
Stella made and awkward smile, her cheeks rosy as ever.
"S-sorry I'm so dirty...I fell of a tree." Warren nodded "Yeah! I wanna go play in a tree too!"
"Uhh well I'd better be going heh..." she smiled awkwardly again, quickly leaving Nicholas and his family.
