"BAKIT hindi ka lumabas, anak?"

My father suddenly appeared in my room with a glass of milk and a plate of cookie. He put that on the bedside table. I was on my bed, reading an erotic novella. My father, sat beside me and just stared at me like I am some kind of bacteria.

"Pops, cookies and milk, it's Cassie's thing, not mine."

"Ano ba naman iyong maglambing lang ako sa'yo." Tumawa si Papa. Ibinaba ko iyong binabasa ko. I was only wearing my robe. I don't really like clothes. I have a pad back in Hawaii – were I grew up – and when I am in there, I walk around naked all day but since we're in the Philippines and I kind of live with my parents again, I can't just go around naked. That would be like... uhm, awkward.

"Lumabas ka. Six weeks na tayo dito sa Pilipinas but I don't see you going out."

"Paano, Pops? I have no friends."

"You have you cousins." He said in a – matter – of – fact tone. I rolled my eyes.

"I hate Dione. Pan is so chismosa. Amal has a baby. Ireen is in Singapore, Hyan has kids, and she's married. Haley is pregnant, Artie is too talkative, Iris... well, I don't know...she's not really my type."

"Maze?"

"Is very much involve with Pan. Alam mo naman ayoko ng chika, Pa. If only Ave is here. Where the hell is she? I miss her. Siya lang naman ang ka-close ko kasi una, although mahilig siya sa chika, mabait naman siya."

"Aswell, Rocheta..."

"Dad, please, I don't have time to babysit Aswell. Uncle Ido can suck it." I rolled my eyes. Biglang tumawa si Papa nang malakas tapos ay hinalikan ako sa pisngi.

"Goodnight, love. Stop reading erotic novellas. You're a woman, for God's sake."

"Mom read fifty shades, Pops. It's just the same thing. Good night! I love you." I smiled at him. Pinatay niya iyong ilaw tapos ay lumabas na. I stood up to turn the lights on again. I am so bored right now. It's Saturday night and I need to have fun. Anim na linggo na akong puro work but no play.

I work in the Consunji Empires. Auntie Yza asked me if I want to work side by side with Hyacinth. Nagtaka nga ako noon, akala ko sosyalera lang si Hya, may trabaho pala siya sa Emperyo. Siya pala ang Chief Financial Officer doon. She has a pretty big role when I comes to the money of the whole Empire at sa six weeks na magkatrabaho kami, I can say that Hyacinth is so great at her job.

Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit ako nandoon. I'm a Psychology graduate. Licensed ako pero hindi ako naga-practice. Well, I worked as a Psychologist in a institution in Hawaii for a year pero marami akong nakaaway, ayaw nila ng paraan ko so I just resigned. Sabi naman ni Pops, magpahinga muna ako, and I did. He told me to travel the world, and I did, it was something very liberating tapos pagbalik ko ng Hawaii, naisip kong ayokong mag-practice talaga. So, I asked Orion if I can work for him in his hotel and he agreed.

Nag-enjoy naman ako. He taught me the ins and the outs of the business. Kaya siguro kahit hindi ako nag-aral, medyo nalaman ko na ang pasikot – sikot. Orion told me that I am smart and that if he dies, he'll leave me his hotel because he trusts me with it. That's really sweet of him but of course I didn't want him to die.
