A College Mess

Chapter 1

"Good morning sweetheart, time to get up. All of your things were already packed this morning and in the moving van."
You know as much as I love my mom I hate being woken up, I swear she is the nicest person I'm kinda sad to be moving away from her, but all the same mornings are not my thing .

"Baria, your father and brother have already packed all of your things so you could sleep later. You just have to get ready, ok?" My mother said, smiling slightly.

"Thanks Mom," I nod in reply and stretch slightly in attempt to wake up.

"I'll be down stairs when you're done," She mentions, before leaving the room

For around fifteen more minutes I just lay there, rolling around in my bed. Eventually I know I have to get up so might as well get it over with. I roll out of bed and start my morning  routine, then find an outfit to wear.

I ran downstairs, almost tripping on the last step, but luckily my brother caught me before I could fall. My brother, Mark Tuan.

"Watch out! You better be glad I caught you, pabo." He said jokingly. I just laugh and hit his shoulder in response.

"By the way thanks to you and Dad for loading the van, I'm glad I could get the extra sleep," I comment.

"Don't worry about it. Not now at least. Hahaha!" He laughs playfully.

"Yah! What's that supposed to mean!" I glare playfully at him.

"Don't yah me little girl I'm older than you!" He scolds teasingly. 

Just then our parents walk in with something behind their backs. First my dad walks up and slowly pulls something out from behind him. It was a brand new phone!

"...Thank you. Not to be rude or anything but you know I'm not really ever on my phone?" I point out curiously.
"Yes I know but there is something else. Check the money on the iTunes," My dad smiles, handing the phone over.

"OMG! But that's so much!" I gasp, a bit shocked.

"But I know how much you like your music," He smiles more at me.

"OMO! Thank you so much!" I grin happily at the gift.

"Ok, my turn!" My mom suddenly spoke up with a smile. She told me to close my eyes and once I did, she put something over my ears.

"What is this?" I say but it sounded kind of muffled. I open my eyes and mom was holding up a box that said 'Plantronics backbeat Pro 2 headphones'

"I've never heard of these, but they feel amazing, thanks mom!" I grin, observing the brand new headset.

"I had Mark find some that you would like," She smiles and looks at Mark.

I slip the headphones around my neck and look at my brother.

"Really? Where did you find them?" I ask curiously.

"Oh I just looked up Bluetooth noise canceling headset and they were some of the top ones so I figured they got to be good, right?" He shrugs playfully ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

" Well thank you all but I better run if I don't want to be late!" I mention, catching a glimpse of the time.

"Ok. Hey I'm driving, alright?" Mark brings up.

"Ok well let's get going" I nod at him and smile.

"Bye Mom, bye Dad" we shouted in unison, heading to the car. And soon,the two hour trip began. It's time to start a new chapter of my life: college!
