Luna Lovegood, a kind, but slightly quirky woman. She had become a quite skilled magizoologist after the war. She worked with all kinds of magical creatures and she had so far, in her fairly short time in her career, even managed to discover a couple of species that had previously never been encountered. She had traveled to loads of different places to pursue this work and it was work she truly enjoyed.
This morning she had been at home preparing for a trip to Germany to handle some nasty business with some Erklings when the Daily Prophet had arrived with the news of a new law, a marriage law.
Luna was outraged for a moment. This was definitely a troublesome law. After a moment of thought though she thought that maybe this was the only way the ministry saw. She did not agree with it, but she would comply none the less. She doubted they'd have much choice anyway. Fear will make people do the strangest things. Even dangerous and drastic things. So she had gone to the ministry and she'd gotten her so called perfect match.

The war had been especially tough on Blaise Zabini. Toward the end, in all the ruckus of the battle of Hogwarts one of the werewolves had bit him. This had caused him to end up with no job and relying on his mother to offer him a place to live. He despises himself a lot of the time, hating what he had become.
During his years in Hogwarts Blaise had been a quiet boy, although some of that might have had to do with him being quite arrogant, seeing most people around him as lesser, due to how he was raised. He was friendly with Malfoy and his gang, but didn't want much to do with Malfoy after he found out he was a death eater.
After the war he had gotten close to Theodore Nott and Draco Malfoy and now considered them his best friends, even saw them as brothers of sorts. He wasn't exactly sure how it had happened. They'd just met up shortly after the war, they'd seen him get bitten, and they just kept meeting up after that one time and they had developed a strong bond.
Blaise's relationship with his mother was rather strained. She was an arrogant, self absorbed woman who worried about her reputation and having a werewolf as a son was something she viewed as a disgrace. He lived in a small cottage on her estate and they met weekly for Sunday dinners, but other than that she mostly wanted him to keep his distance and as long as he kept a low profile and didn't tell anyone about his condition unless absolutely necessary, she would let him live in the cottage undisturbed.
Blaise had changed his views on the world and other people since becoming a werewolf. He was now what he considered a lowly being, someone filthy and unworthy, but he still had people who cared for him. He had his best friends who didn't think what he was mattered. They had grown up and out of their old ways all three of them.
Blaise had been extremely shocked when he learned who his match was. Luna Lovegood, the crazy Ravenclaw girl from his year at Hogwarts. Not that he thought he deserved anyone better or rather he thought that even she didn't deserve anyone as bad as him. He didn't have the highest opinion of himself now that he was what he was.
What worried him most at that moment was introducing her to his mother.

Luna was surprised that she'd been matched to Blaise Zabini, one of Malfoy's friends from school, a Slytherin. He looked different from how she remembered him from their time at Hogwarts. Worn out somehow, his aura chaotic and dark in a way that made her believe he was carrying a burden that brought him great sadness. He somehow looked older than he was and he had scars on his neck that she was pretty sure he hadn't had the last time she'd seem him. Not that she's paid any attention to him previously, but she had obviously seem him from time to time during their time at Hogwarts.
His dark skin was sullen and his eyes were sunken in as if he rarely had a decent nights sleep. She felt sad for him somehow.
They'd gone to meet up with her friends, Hermione, Ginny and the boys. Ginny and Harry had matched with each other. Luna wasn't surprised, they were a good pairing, she'd always thought so. Ron had matched with Parvati Patil and Neville with Hannah Abbot, another match she thought was a good one. Hermione had matched with Draco Malfoy. The reveal was met with outrage from their group, but Luna could see the reason behind their match. If you disregarded their previous history, they were both top of their year, very smart and skilled people and they had a temperament and stubbornness that meant they would most likely challenge each other, but in a good way. Too bad they had all that bad blood between them. Luna sensed that Malfoy wasn't the same as he'd been in school though. She sensed that about Blaise too.
Blaise had made a remark about him and Draco both being matched to people from the "enemy" side, saying he thought it should be interesting bringing her home to meet his mother. She didn't know if that meant he still lived with his mother or if they just met up often, but she guessed she would find out. It was a normal thing to bring your fiancé to meet you parents anyway, she thought. She was going to have to introduce him to her father at some point too. He would already know about the new law at this point so he was bound to wonder who she had ended up with.
Luna didn't know what would happen from here on out, but she had an inkling that things would work out somehow. She didn't know how this was the perfect match, but she would find out soon enough.
