Isen walked down the hall, other students watching him as he passed. Not because he was popular, no, but because he was disliked by the majority. Transgender boys aren’t usually welcome in Ravenfeather High School. He wasn’t disliked for his personality, or his looks, or his reputation. Just for being transgender.

His dark red hair bounced with him as he walked, it was short and naturally fluffy, so he never needed any gel. His dark blue eyes darted from person to person before he decided to fix his attention on his locker ahead. As soon as he reached his locker and opened the small door, his twin sister Aurora slammed the door shut and smiled at him. Her lighter red hair glistened in the LED lighted hall and her light blue eyes sparkled with… mischief? Excitement?

“Heyyy,” She sang through her teeth.

“Hey.” Isen replied as he unlocked his locker again.

Aurora gave him a look, y’know, the look that sisters give when brothers are upset. “What’s up?”

“The sky.” Isen sarcastically replied as he closed his locker door, after stuffing his textbooks in. “Nothing, sis. I’m ok.”

“Hm…” She crossed her arms and looked him up and down suspiciously, before turning and brightening up quickly. “Dawn!”

Dawn stood a good 5 inches beneath Aurora, who stood 3 inches under Isen. She smiled up at Aurora and bounced with excitement, for some unknown reason. Dawn never needed a reason to be happy. Perhaps it was the small, yellow flowers in her long, dark brown hair? Or the flowing white tank top she wore that looked immensely comfortable. Either way, she stood on her tiptoes to hug Aurora. “Hey, guys!” Her happy, high pitched voice rang through Aurora and Isen’s ears.

She looked up at Isen and frowned, the placed both of her palms on either side of his face and patted him. “Why so sad?”

Isen was about to answer with I’m fine, when he caught sight of Ethan walking down the hall. “Him.” He nodded behind Dawn, in the direction of Ethan.

Ethan was Isens, now, ex. And while it might be dramatic to say he ruined Isens life, he definitely ruined his Junior year. Ethan seemed happy. With recently dyed silver hair and his icy blue eyes, his look complemented how cold he was.

“Oh, him.” Dawn’s expression went from excited, to angry and resentful.

“What’s with the tension?” Dominic asked from behind Aurora. Aurora jumped and turned around quickly, letting out an acute laugh.

“Dom!” Dawn exclaimed, quickly going from resentful against Ethan to ecstatic to see Dominic. She smiled brightly and looked up at him, which anyone would have to do as he towered over everyone else. His dark skin complemented his smile, equally as bright as Dawn’s. His emo like style today, however, did not. He did not look good in black skinny jeans and skull t-shirts.

“Someone looks ready for a funeral.” Aurora joked when she saw his clothing.

“What? I wanted to try something different today!” He defended himself.

“I think it’s nice!” Dawn chimed in, swaying back and forth in her flats.

“Of course you do.” Isen teased before throwing his backpack over his shoulder. “Now let’s get to class, we have like 2 minutes.”
