"Father!" Hera called, running through the castle halls, smiling to the knights she had passed.
"Oswald, have you seen father?" She asked her fathers most trusted advisor. He nodded, a smile on his face. "Yes, Lady Hera, I will take you to him." He held his elbow out for her to take and led her to her fathers work study.
"You're father was just finalizing his marriage papers to Lady Olivia for the peace treaty." Hera nodded, this would be fathers 6th wife, not including the Queen, her mother. Oswald knocked on the door once before opening it, announcing Hera's arrival before freezing. Hera peeked her head in and let out a gasp of shock.
"Dad?" She questioned, staring at her aged Father, who was laying on the ground surrounded in blood. She saw Lady Olivia and her mother both in the room and looked as though they were arguing. They stopped when they heard Hera's voice. Her father turned his head slightly to Hera, offering a small smile. "Long live Queen Hera." He uttered through choked breathes. Oswald repeating him quietly. Hera ran to her father, sliding on her knees as she reached him, holding his head up. "Daddy, please. Please." She begged, not seeing his chest rise and fall. "No." She repeated, brushing her fingers through his hair. "What happened?" She questioned, not looking up at the two women who had witnessed what happened.
"Why is my father dead?" She asked, her voice losing its weariness and became steel. Neither of the women answered, both of them staring at the girl and her father in shock.
Oswald had already sent for a guard to go and get the knights and inner council, without catching the attention of the three women. Hera eyed her mothers and Olivias clothes, both were bloodied and she couldn't determine what had happened.
