Girlfriend\\Chapter Three

So...Peggy is popular. Incase you didn't know.

I'm not popular.

So Peggy and the rest of the popular glee club started telling people that I was her boyfriend.

"What's wrong?" Alexander asked, sitting next to me in the empty glee club room or whatever you call it
"Nothing." I said wiping away my tears quickly
"Spill." He said crossing his arms "Also Peggy sent me to tell you she wanted to talk"
"Peggy's not even my girlfriend!" I said in frustration
"What do you mean? The whole school knows about you two"
"I'm gay Alexander." I said bluntly
"Oh..."

Eliza walked in "Babe sing this song with me" she said to Alexander
"Not now" Alexander said not even looking at her
"But Lexi-"
"I told you not to call me Lexi."
"Ugh!" She stormed off

"I see you got yourself a stuck with a Schuyler too." I observed
"Yeah...you should go talk to Peggy. She's more understanding than Liz"
"Nice pet name for someone forcing you to be with them." I rolled my eyes
"Whatever."

I got up and went to look for Peggy.

"Johnny!" She smiled, grabbing my hand. Ew
"Um...please don't call me that.."
"Cmon! I have this song that I've been wanting to sing with someone" she said pulling me into the glee room

"Hey Alex! You're great at piano, can you play this song for me and Jack"

Jack is a little more expectable I suppose.

"Sure." Alexander looked at me in amusement

I recognized the song but still had to look at the lyrics

"I'm here alone, didn't wanna leave

Is there a way I could make you understand?" I put in

"But how

It's so hard for me to breathe" we sing together

I stopped singing. She stared at me in confusion when I didn't sing the next verse with her.

"Peggy I can't..."
"It's okay! We can do a different song if this one doesn't work for you" she said kindly
"That's sweet but it's not the song.." I sighed
"What do you mean?" Peggy asked, sounding heartbroken

"I...I-I mean I want to try the song without piano!" I said quickly
"Oh.." she sighed in relief "don't scare me like that!"
"Sorry..." I said biting my lip

"Bye Alex! Thanks!" Peggy waved
"Anytime." He said before leaving

It pained me to see him go.
