She opened her eyes for the first time in her life, unlike her sister she opened them at three weeks instead of two. This wolf had beautiful golden eyes with a soft black coat and her sisters and brothers were white as snow with brown, green, and blue eyes. She had two sisters named Hailee and Esmeralda and two brothers named Austin and Jackson. It was surprising that they all made it this long since was a pretty cold fall even though it was only September. She got up when her father called her and her siblings back into the den. "Yes, father?" The three white pups asked. "Hold on, Where is Mercy?" The wolf asked his mate. "Probably playing with the rouges, father," Esmeralda said in her accent she picked up from the beta. The luna laughed at her daughter's remark while the alpha was worried about his daughter. "Mercy!" He screamed. "Calm down Jim, I'm sure she's playing," The luna spoke. "But Delilah she never does things like this, I'm going to find her," Jim said.
***Meanwhile by the Edge of the territory***
"Help! Someone, please help me!" Mercy screamed out keeping her claws locked on a log and to her luck, a wolf scooped her out of the ravine she was drowning in. If Mercy ever gets good luck it ends with bad luck because now she was no longer on her territory. "I'm Mercy and I demand you put me down I am the daughter of Alpha Brown!" Mercy yelped at the dark brown wolf. The wolf dropped her in front of himself. "You see I need you so I can have some leverage on your pack," The wolf said. "Daddy! Help! The bad wolf got me!" Mercy yelped. "You shouldn't have done that little pup!" The wolf said inching near Mercy with his teeth baring. Right before the wolf was going to sink his teeth into her neck Jim pounced on the brown wolf. The wolf howled for the rest of his pack to come and assist him. "It was a setup, the pack isn't prepared! They could take us all down," Mercy thought. "Dad I'm going to go warn the rest back at the pack den," Mercy said before running off. Luckily this time she was able to find her way home. "Mom! Dad is being attacked and they are sending wolves here if you don't-" Mercy stopped talking when she watched her mom pick up a stick and play with Austin completely ignoring her. "What do you want, runt," Delilah said with a sickening tone.
"The Long Wind pack is going to attack any minute! We need to talk to the rest of the pack and dad might be hurt!" She screamed at her mother for the first time in her life. Delilah walked up to her daughter and hit her before walking out to the wolves Mercy just woke up from their slumber. For the first time in her life, Esmeralda had sympathy for Mercy, she motioned for Mercy to walk to where her bed was and she nursed the wound Delilah left on her neck. Since the males grew faster and could already shift to their humans Austin and Jackson were allowed to fight unlike the young girls, Hailee, Esmeralda, and Mercy. Hailee got up and walked to her sisters and surprisingly apologized for the way she treated me. Hailee has visions of the future right before something good or bad happens so Mercy assumed something very bad will happen if she apologized. "I'm going to go see if dad is okay, I promise I'll come back," Hailee tells her sisters.
"They're all dead!" Delilah screamed running in hurrying to hide Esmeralda and Mercy in the passage that leads to a safe spot. As they were halfway down the passage they heard teeth hit flesh and a loud squeal that faded, since their mother was the only one supposedly alive. "Esmae I'm scared, what do we do?" Mercy asked whilst walking into an unknown territory. "Find a pack and hope they don't? kill us," Esmeralda answered. They continued walking further until they reached a pack house one for humans. They were still in the oldest and one of the first packs so they stuck to dens instead of houses. Mercy scratched at the front door until someone answered. "Hello?" A girl in her mid-twenties answered the door and she didn't see them until Esmae whined. She immediately shifted into her wolf, it was a stunning shade of brown it was really light almost golden.
"What are your names?" She asked in a sweet voice. "Well, I'm Mercy Brown and this is my sister Esmeralda Brown," Mercy said. "Nice to meet you two, I'm Sydni Leigh but may I ask why you're here?" She said. "Oh, our pack was just attacked and were-were the only ones left," Esmae said. "Oh you poor girls, can you shift yet?" She asked the girls. "No, we are to young," Esmae said. "Come on in," Sydni said. The girls walked on in to see a beautiful house with many amazing floral arrangments. They took a seat next to each other on a couch and were asleep within five minutes.
When they woke up Mercy went outside to get some fresh air but unfortunately, this will be the last time Mercy will ever see Esmae. A wolf jumped out of a lil black bush and ran off with Mercy. "Hey! Let go of me!" The wolf never said anything back, but for some reason, Mercy wasn't frightened, she felt at ease like she had nothing to worry about.
