"Get out, Caleb," Collie spat.
"Get out, Caleb," he mocked.
Collie stood up and began screaming at him as she tried to close her door. He fought her, but eventually, it closed. She sighed as she turned back to me and smiled. I chuckled and advanced towards her.
And I kissed her.
...
"So," Ursanne began, crashing into the couch right next to me.
I glanced at her, raising an eyebrow.
"How was Collie's?"
I lifted the remote and turned down the volume five notches. "When did you care?"
"Okay, I'm sorry about the dinner, but you can't keep ignoring me."
"You were way out of line, Ursa."
"I know." She hesitated. "And I'm sorry."
I shook my head, turning the volume up again. Ursanne's hand went to my wrist and she tried to pull it down. I lowered my gaze.
"Did she cry?"
I smirked. "No."
"You have no idea how grounded I was for that."
I didn't reply.
"So, are you getting her a Christmas present?"
I jerked my head towards my sister. "Present?"
Ursanne rolled her eyes playfully. "I'll take that as a no." She took a deep breath and then pulled me up. "C'mon, call Andrew."
"Why?"
"We need to get there somehow, and you do not want Mom coming with us, trust me!"
"What's 'there'?"
"The mall. C'mon, Brayden, Christmas is in four days and if you want to get her something, I suggest we hurry."
"B-but I don't have any money."
Ursanne looked up at me and smiled half-heartedly. "Take it as my apology for dinner."
I let out a breath before crushing her into a hug. No matter what, I knew Ursanne would always be there. She wasn't heartless. She loved me. And I loved her.
...
"So, what do you plan on getting her?" Andrew asked, glancing at me
"Um..." I looked at him, and then back at the road. "Well..."
Ursanne spoke up. "We were actually hoping you could spark up some suggestions. We all know I don't know Collie and Brayden looks a little clueless."
"Sure, I could figure somethin' out," Andrew smirked. "I got your back, Bray." He shook my shoulder.
I let out a shaky laugh and looked out the window.
Not long later, we reached the mall. Andrew parked in a spot that wasn't far from the entrance of Dick's Sporting Goods. He turned off the car and all of us got out.
Ursanne and I both walked around the car to meet Andrew. We strolled through the parkway to the doors. Although it was a bit chilly, I was glad it wasn't snowing like it usually does in New York. New York was much worse than this. The sky was white and it was cold, but nope, nothing compared to NY.
"So? Any suggestions?"
Andrew tilted his head as he opened the doors. A gust of warm air hit us.
