chapter 1, meeting them.

Bella sat down in the ditch, her face in her hands.
She hadn't eaten in days, and she was nearly on the brink of death.
"Why..I, I can't.."
she shakily stood up, grabbing her stomach.
"I'm gonna die out here," she mumbled.
She didn't have any money, no food, no clean water source, just herself.
"That's it," she whispered to herself.
"The next person I see..I, I'm gonna take all their things! It's the only way to survive.."
She closed her eyes.
"Okay, three, two, one.."
A motorcycle passed by, way too fast for her to even think about doing anything.
"dammit."
"Uhm..maybe someone who isn't on a motorcycle." she said
"Okay, again, three, two, one!"
This time, she saw two legs poking out of the river in front of her, struggling.
"yeah, I'll just.. skip that one," she said.
but, she looked again and sighed, holding her nose and jumping into the water.
She grabbed onto the person's hand and seam to surface, taking a full of air.
The person got up, stretching their back and groaning.
"goddamn, another fail."
it was a girl, with a coat on with bandages covering her arms and legs.
"oh, hey! didn't see ya there." she said, waving to the girl, and trying to get the water out of her hair.
"uh.." bella replied. "what were you doing in he river..?"
"oh, I was trying to commit suicide."
"C-commit suicide?!"
"Yeah.. but you had to interfere."
"oh, uh..I'm sorry,"
fia saw her tattered clothes and was, not gonna lie, it was pretty dirty.
"Say, would you like anything to eat?" she asked.
Bella jumped.
"Uh..curry sounds really good right now, actually."
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OVER THERE?!" a voice called.
"oh, nice work Rei! it uh, seems you found me." she replied to them.
"Nice work? Says the one who had to interrupt my schedule to find your ass!"
"heh.. "
"say, you said you were hungry, right? I'm pretty sure Rei would help pay for the food." she said.
Rei..
"Really? Thank you!"
"It's nothing." she answered.
"HEY, LET'S GO GET THIS KID FORTY BOWLS OF RICE!" Fia yelled sarcastically, trying to annoy her co-worker.
"FIA, DON'T START SPENDING MY MONEY OUT OF GENEROSITY-" the girl yelled.
"fia.." Bella echoed.
"yep, that's my name. osamu fia." she replied with a closed-eyed smile.

"Ugh.. I'm stuffed,"
about fifteen rice bowls lay on the table, empty and a fourteen year-old girl slamming her head on the table in.. satisfaction?
"Now tell me fia, where on my schedule does it say, to save your suicidal co-worker from drowning herself?!" rei snapped.
she just shrugged.
"and nowhere does it say to give fifty bowls of rice to a snot-nosed kid!"
"that was really good.."
Rei's eye twitched.
"You better show some gratitude after using my money to eat-"
"you're a life-saver, honestly.." she said.
rei's eyes slightly widened.
"I was kicked out of my orphanage, with nothing left. I haven't had food for days," she said.
"you're an orphan?" fia asked.
Bella nodded.
"so, where do you guys work, anyway?" she asked.
they both looked at each other, before clearing their throats.
"We're sort of like the..police. but not really." rei answered.
"oh, so you save people?"
"basically."
"What's it called?" she asked.
"we're called..the armed detective agency." fia replied.
the armed detective agency? I thought they were just a hoax..
that they deal with supernatural things,
That they have gifted abilities.
"We're actually on a mission right now," FIA said.
"You are? What is it about?" Bella asked.
"It's about the tiger, surely you've heard about it, right?" Rei asked.
Bella froze.
"uh.. if you don't mind, thank you for everything, but I'll be leaving now.."
She got out of her seat, and tried to run, but rei got her.
"what do you know about the tiger?" She growled.
"i-uh..don't know anything-"
"stop lying and tell us!" she snapped again.
Bella sighed.
"Fine.."
