Leonid Shushkevich was always confident and full of himself, but ambitious and intelligent all the same.
He had always dreamed of a life where he was someone special, not just another 'mutant' inhabitant of Pripyat.
He promised himself that he would do anything, anything at all, for them to notice him.

The people were eager to rebuilt their town, however, they noticed oddities in Leonid's behaviour. It seemed as if he needed more. More recognition, more love and more power. Maybe, just maybe, he was biting off more than he could chew but it didn't stop him. He was more determined than ever to be idolised.

Slowly, he as aged, he began to change more and more. He no longer particularly cared for anyone else besides himself. Pripyat was finally somewhat restored but now Leonid was in charge. Full of misused passion and a conceded belief that he deserved power, he called himself the King of Chernobyl.
Many disagreed with his decisions but they were swiftly 'removed' from the picture.

However, an underground plot was starting. A select few had found the courage and bravery to begin a revolution against the newly corrupted king. These few were Davyd Shevchenko, Artem Sirko and an unenthused third, Anatoliy Tereshchenko.

Davyd was sure that the plot was completely secret and the king had no idea, however, they were wrong.
King Leonid had somehow been informed about the plan and demanded that the three be brought to him immediately.
