The next step...

"So, peridot. How long have you had this crush on me?" Lapis looked at peridot with a smirk on her face. "U-uh...like a month after you moved into the barn with me..." Peridot blushed.
"Well, it took me a bit longer but I found you cute about a year after I moved in" Lapis smiled.
"You know the next step is fusion..." Lapis said with a slight blush on her face. Peridot jumped at the sentence that her best friend turned crush just said. "B-but I thought you were waiting for the right gem!"
Lapis chuckled. "I just did"
"Really?!" The green gem said with surprise in her voice.
"Yep, So what do you say? Wanna fuse?"
Peridot took a moment to think and then let out a sigh. "Y-yes..."
Lapis smiled and took Peridots hand then walked outside.
This will be your first time fusing, won't it?"
"Yes, but me and Garnet attempted fusion while working on the gem drill." Peridot looked at lapis.
"Well, this time let's hope it works" Lapis held out her hand.
