Chapter Two: That Ole Thang

It was too early for this sun to be beaming through my window, maybe I needed to check the time because I swear I just fell asleep.

" I see you missed me " Black said sarcastically .

" Girl you ain't doing nothing but smoothing ya way out of here , Bye! " I replied.

" You know I ain't drive my car girl , stop playing "

I was so damn tired Lord knows I didn't feel like getting up yet , but last night was amazing and anything she asked me to do I was going to do by all means. So I dragged myself out of bed as I do any other morning to take the boys to school. I threw on some black legging-shorts that I had just racked up on at Target , it was a mean sale I grabbed every color even duplicates. Before I could finish getting my clothes on Black came behind me and gripped my ass so tight that seen the veins popping out of her arm.

" Wassup with that paper bag ? You a bad girl now ? " She joked.

" I don't even know what you're talking about , what bag ? " I lied.

" So $10,000 just fell from the sky and landed on your bed Jhreu? " as she slightly loosened her grip and finally let go.

I had to think quick , she know when I'm lying and I know she know that I know she know who left the money. I quickly walked 5 steps away to my bathroom that was connected to my room , waiting for her to walk behind me so I could come up with an answer. " Look my bitch lie enough , I ain't come over here to be lied to yo." She exclaimed.

" Okay X left it but I swear I ain't know , and its not what you think "

I didn't know what she thought but she left it alone after that so I was cool. I proceeded to get dressed and walked pass the mess everybody left in my living room per usual. Along the ride she insisted I stop at Wells Fargo bank before arriving to where her car was parked. " As long as she took her ass better had took out a loan damn " I thought. When we got two her car I parked right behind it , I wanted to smoke again before she left me knowing it wouldn't be the last time. She let me roll being as she had something to tend to , as soon as I began to light the blunt. She removed the brown paper bag from her red Supreme fanny pack that she had saddled across her chest. She threw it at me. " Go give that shit back man , you don't need shit from no nigga " She said so slick that I agreed. Before I could open my mouth to respond she pulled a envelope out of the fanny pack that read Wells Fargo. She threw that at me too. " And as long as you've known me you know I don't need it from you either " I replied smartly.

" Holla at me later " as she exited my car. When I got back home I didn't hesitate to get ready for work being as though I spent the whole morning in the car with Black. I kept both the brown paper bag and bank envelope in a old Nike shoe box and I would tend to those later. I was already about to be late so I just made my way to work. We had a new hire today so I knew this shift would fly by , just make the new girl do everything.

" Ms.Johnson I need you to train today because Melissa called out " Blanche said without asking. I hated her ass , the only nurse in this hospital that worked by the book. " Okay you can bring them " I replied without acknowledging her. " Well if you'd turn around you'd see she's already here " she chuckled.

As soon as I turned around everything turned black and I only saw her standing there. It was Veda , and I damn sure wasn't expecting to see her .... at least not on my team. However I had to do my job before they replaced my ass , " Sit right here , so I can teach you how to do rounds " I whispered. " Jhreu you know I know how to do this " She replied.

" Yea well I want my job , so if you don't want to be fired on your first day for sitting here just shadowing all day I would listen !" I exclaimed.

I spent the whole shift teaching her what we both know she knew how to do , but the only reason Blanche was still on this side of the floor was because she was monitoring "New Girl" .

Veda was my ex and how we ended was nothing like a fairytale , due to her of course.
