Authors POV
It was 10 am Saturday morning, and y/n had just finished eating breakfast. She decided to go over to her best friend lexa's house. She told her older brother Bellamy, where she was going and of course he let her go.
She ran across the yard and walked into Lexa's house, she didn't have to knock since it was basically her second home. Y/n made a quick stop in the kitchen where she found Lexa's mom cooking breakfast .
"Hey aunt Hanna" The six year old said as she sat at the table, "hello y/n are you here to see Lexa" Hanna asked as she flipped a few pieces of bacon, y/n nodded excitedly and Hanna let out a small laugh "she's still asleep in her room why don't you go wake her up" she tells the little girl.
Y/n quickly got out of her seat and ran upstairs to her best friends room accidentally bumping into her dad "careful kiddo, we don't want you getting hurt" He says with a small smile
"Sorry uncle Caleb" Y/n says, she gave him a quick hug and walked into Lexa's room. (A/n: if you get who the parents are you're automatically my friend)
Y/n jumps onto Lexa's bed and shakes the sleeping girl, attempting to wake her up "Lexa ....Lexa wake up sleepy head"
Lexa let out a tiny groan and shakes her head "no y/n five more minutes" she says snuggling into her blankets, y/n shook her a few more times but it was obvious Lexa wasn't getting up anytime soon
"Fine then I guess I'll go back home" Y/n says as she gets off the bed. She didn't make it that far because she gets pulled back by Lexa "no y/nn stay here please" The six year old said, y/n smiled and laid down beside her best friend. Y/n turns so that they're face to face, they lay together for the next couple of minutes telling little jokes and making funny faces, completely carefree and relaxed
"Lexa promise me we'll always be best friends" Y/n says suddenly out of the blue
"I promise we'll always be best friends" Lexa says without hesitation kissing the tip of y/n's nose
"I love you Bambi" Y/n says with a bright smile
"I love you to thumper" Lexa replied closing her eyes, both girls eventually fell asleep with smiles on their faces
They hoped nothing would change, they hoped it would always be
Bambi and thumper...together forever
You and Lexa are both 13
"Ready or not here I come" Octavia yells, the girls were currently playing hide and seek in the house while the parents were cooking Christmas dinner. Y/n and lexa were hiding in the closet in the hallway, the girls were only hiding together so it was easier for Octavia to find them because according to y/n "Octavia is the slowest seeker ever"
"So y/n do you like any boys at school" Lexa asked in a hushed voice, not wanting to get caught
Y/n let out a small sigh, she had noticed she hadn't been staring at any boys at school but she was always staring at girls. She didn't know what it meant until she talked to her mom about it. Her mom explained it to her and told her that she didn't care who she liked, she only cared about her happiness.
"Um-m lexa can I tell you something" Y/n asked nervously afraid of what she would think of her afterwards
"What is it thumper" Lexa asked a little worried noticing the nervous expression on her best friends face
