A Lover

Seeing only darkness wasn't the worst thing in the world, I could see with other things. When I touched things with my fingers and image formed in my mind. I'd practiced this talent for years, but nothing could prepare me for what my fingers were feeling in that instant.

"What am I touching right now?" I asked the woman whose hair I was feeling.

"My hair, what do you mean?" She said in her sultry voice, sounding like velvet.

"Well, sorry to say this, but your hair doesn't feel like hair," I say, chuckling slightly at the end.

"Really now? Then please, tell me what it feels like," I hear her say getting closer to my face.

"It feels slimy, but not wet. I can't describe it..." my brain was reaching for the texture of her hair, what it might be. "Okay, fine. I give up," I admit after a few minutes of mulling it over.

"Really? So quickly?" came her voice from in front of me, when I hear it. the small hiss close to left cheek. I quickly lurch back, rubbing the spot where the object had touched my cheek.

"What the hell?" i murmured under my breath, confused.

"Sorry about that darling, they just can't keep still." She said the last part menacingly towards whatever had touched my face.

"They? Is there someone else in here?" I said listening for any other person's breathing, or any other sign of life.

"Nope just me and my hair." Her hair? Why would she refer to her hair as a separate being?

"Your hair?" I said, voicing my thoughts, "What do you mean by that?"

"You seriously don't know?" she asked, with genuine confusion in her tone.

"Don't know what?"

"Darling, my name is Medusa, how have you not connected the dots? You haven't heard the myths? The stories? You're lucky you're very cute, darling." she teased.

"Medusa? As in the lady with snakes as hair? No wonder your hair didn't feel like hair, they're snakes!" I exclaim, finally reaching the conclusion.

"And you're not weirded out, darling?"

"Why would I be?" I ask, looking in her general direction, tilting my head slightly.

"Because I'm Medusa? The one who turns anyone who looks into her eyes to stone? The one with snakes for hair? You're telling me that this isn't something weird to you?" she questioned me, getting close to my face, radiating warmth.

"Why would it be? It's not like I'm not weird either," I say shrugging, "I'm a blind woman, who likes women with snakes for hair." I say with a small grin.

"Do you now?" Medusa says in a velvety tone.

"Oh yes very much, would you happen to know any?" I say getting closer to where I think her face might be.

"You're in luck, darling, because I happen to be one," I feel fingertips lightly tug at my chin upwards, pulling them towards her face.

"You're right I am lucky," I say giggling and then moving closer until I could feel the lips of the woman in front of me against my own.

We kissed lightly as if scared that any sudden moves would shatter the moment, until she started to slowly slide her hands from my shoulders, to my elbows, leaving a trail sparks in their wake.

Her mouth opened slowly as if testing the waters, and mine pushed her into the deep end and opened up completely for her, allowing her access. She took her time roaming the entirety of my mouth while lifting her hands from my arms and placing them on my waist, using the advantage to pull me towards her.

After a while I slowly detached from her mouth, only to reach my hand out for her shoulders and then climbing in her lap once I had found them, whimpering lightly from the friction I got.

Medusa slowly pulled away and called my name, "Wait, stop." she said pushing me slightly away from my shoulders, "Darling, we need to stop now. I'm not ready."

I tilted my head slightly to one side, "What do you mean?"

"I mean, you're a very beautiful woman, but I can't do this with you because, if this happens I really won't be able to let you leave my side."

I grinned at her. "Then don't." I challenge, then connect my lips with hers once more, knowing full well what would happen.
