Bumble tried to keep their mind off of the end of the trip as much as possible. It was a few days walk from here so they knew that they shouldnt worry...yet. They started to gather some of the things they would need. First was a  cowl that they never used. Shaking off the dust, they coughed as some went in their throat. It was a pale green with a clip in the front and a hood that covered their feathers.
Opal rummaged about in her home until she found a black cloak with a slim covering of wolf fur. She picked out black gloves and wolf-fur padded boots - just in case. She grabbed a small strip of folded leather, putting it into a large, black, fur lined satchel. She grabbed a few other things before heading to the underground level, picking up bottles and small caskets of different herbs and such. She grabbed a vial of teal water and placed it lightly in her padded satchel as she walked back to her friends house.
Bumble had gathered quite a few things and added them to their satchel. Holding the white one Opal had given them, they smiled softly. They filled it with veggies and put it gently inside the larger satchel they had. They tried to smile but the thought of going home filled them with anxiety, and their breathing started to shorten. Shaking the thought from their head once more, they blinked before tucking the necklace Opal had given them inside the satchel as well. Opal tapped her foot on the stone outside (like Thumper did in the movie Bambi), wearing her cloak. She flexed her paws through the black fur gloves and opened her satchel. Yup, everything was there. She straightened her flower crown on her head.
"Almost ready?" Bumble squeaked in reply, sliding their satchel over their shoulder before dropping to four legs and walking out of their den. They had closed up everything and even put up the wood they used as a door in winter. They slid their hood up over their feathers and smiled widely at Opal. Opal nodded, taking the hood on her cloak and moving over her own as well. Her tail swayed, a new white bandage plastered over the scabbing bite mark. She sunk low, but not onto all fours, her body was kept straight out.
"Lead the way," she murmured, tucking her healing arm under her. Bumble took a shaky breath, trying their best to act confident. They started to walk forward, a smile plasterwd onto their face. But inside they were screaming, wanting to just go back inside and hide again, like they had until they met Opal. But now that their paws were moving, that was impossible.
'It'll be okay this time.' They thought. But when Opal looked away for a moment, a scared and on the verge of tears child showed through their facade.
