Brianna
As Sam helps Elyar bandage around his arm, Luke catches up behind me and laces his fingers with mine. The sensation is undescribable, yet so foreign because he can only make me feel that way. Its an incredible feeling for sure but its just so odd.
"I thought I nearly lost you" I hear Luke mumble. I look up at his big blue orbs with just a few minor scars across his eyebrow.
"I'm incredibly hard to get rid of so you better step it up a bit" I tease, pinching his cheek. He smiles and rolls his eyes before kissing me softly on my nose. I don't know where this new sense of confidence is coming from, maybe its just him rubbing off on me or just having some freedom away from home. I remember feeling much better whenever I would meet Alec around the creak but never like this - not emotionally.
"You know, Alec really likes you and frankly I don't like that" the annoyance and irritation is definitely present in his voice. I give his hand a little squeeze and take a deep breath.
"I don't know why you keep bringing him up..." I sigh, walking around him and then facing up at him.
"Brianna, you are my main priority right now, I don't want you taken away from me" he explains, looking down straight into my eyes and then to our interlocked fingers.
"So I'm a priority?" I ask, a little hurt to be very honest.
"Of course not! Jesus, that's not what I'm saying..." he lets go of my hands and rubs his eyes, wincing when he touches his scar. I'm contemplating on wether just to continue questioning him or let it go.... yes, the second option is better.
I turn myself around slowly and walk towards Alec sitting next to Elyar, half asleep by the looks of it.
"Hi, is he doing okay?" I nudge his shoulder, gesturing to sleepy Elyar. He looks back at me with bright eyes and a soft chuckle.
"Yeah, he had a nasty slash on his side but he said it was worth it. He's a great friend" he smiles, a genuine nice smile. He looks really happy when he talks about his friends, i've never noticed that before - like the way his smile reaches just below his eyes so they crinkle.
"So.. what now?" He yawns, lying back against the bench. Oh lord. What do we do now? My mind is travelling to a million places right now but all I can really think of is Luke. Why is he so god damn possessive? - Wow, excuse my french.
" I have to go back I guess, mother will be hysterical and my father will be furious.." I sadly sigh. I am not really ready to face the wrath of my parents, especially when my minds all jumbled up.
"Maybe Clarisse can help you? And Brianna, I'm sorry about what I did -"
"Alec, that's all behind us now. Let it go" I softly say, trying not to sound rude. He smiles and looks straight up the way to the stars.
As we sit there in silence, my thoughts travel back to the riot. How I almost blacked out and why did I even lose control like that? I've never done anything like that before. I mean, what kind of an Angel spouts ice shards around their hands? Is it a new trait I've developed? Is it because I'm getting older? I have no clue. None.
"Brianna, we have to get you home" Lukes groggy voice makes me jump slightly. I look towards his voice's direction and he has glossy eyes. Was he crying? Has he been crying?
"Luke?" I croak. The water brimming at his eyes and the sadness filling his blue orbs is a truly murdering sight. A sharp pain pierces my chest, making me arch my back only slightly. I turn to my right to find no Alec or Sam or Elyar ...
"They've gone back already, Alec said he'll see you tomorrow" The despair and anger is just mortifying in his tone and I'm already developing shivers.
