"Shit"
I spin around in my chair and get up, bending down to pick up the screwdriver that I dropped.
"Would you like me to report a problem Mister Thrice?" My smart wall juts out startling me in my dim, quiet basement.
"No Qurao, there is no problem. Off" I'm a little annoyed, knowing that although these new smart walls are supposed to help, instead it disrupts me at the worst times imaginable.
I continue with my work, hoping this time I am successful at making this AI. I need someone to help me; smarter than any human with the intelligence of a computer to help me.
If I am not successful, we could risk losing loved ones and lose our chance to reconnect.
I groan and stuff my head in my arms as I wait in silence for hope my last invention is successful this time.
As I start drifting off to sleep, a sudden beep jolts me awake.
My invention lays on the aged brown table, its eyes fluttering open as it repeats the word "rebooting." I get up abruptly and slowly make my way to my new AI.
My AI.
I'm standing there in disbelief staring down at the robot beneath me, knowing my triumph will soon rid the earth of all things corrupt.
