Chapter 1:The Chance
Rianne's POV
I was on my blue and well-cushioned bed,busy reading my all-time favorite book,'The Fault In Our Stars' ,when my brother Kyle interrupted me.
"Rianne!It's time to eat!",Kyle yelled as he banged his fist on my door.
"Coming!",I replied and put my book back on the shelf.As much as I wanted to say this but my brother yelling like mom almost made me laugh.
I took a quick shower and wore a sleeveless icy blue t-shirt, a white sweater,white skinny jeans and a matching blue colored flats.I brushed and tied my hair into a bun.
I went downstairs to the kitchen,where I saw my mom and brother eating pancakes and bacon,I quietly sat beside them and ate.
"Excited about school honey?",My mom,Adriana,asked.
I flinched thinking about going to school which made me upset and lose my appetite.If I were given a chance to choose if I'd be grounded at my room for weeks or go to a new school I swear Id rather be grounded.
"Can I not go to school today and just stay at home instead",I blurted out,not thinking of another reason why I shouldnt go to school.
"Of course not honey there's no one to take care of you afterall it is the first day",My mom insisted making me groan in annoyance.
"If only we hired a maid",I mumbled,as I was playing my food with the fork.
"Why are you scared of going to school,sis?",Kyle added taking a glance at me before he took a bite of his pancake.
"I'm not afraid of going to school I'm afraid that they'll tease me and consider me being weak because of this stupid cancer and pale features..",I told them and the room was silent.I know complaining about my sickness wont probably help but I was stressed up just by thinking about it.
"Then wear some makeup and hide your so called pale feautures",Kyle suggested,finally breaking the silence.
"And what tease me that I look like a cake not a chance afterall I dont wear makeup I dont even know how to put on a lipstick",I protested as he smirked.
