Chapter 1
Breathless
The sun is so bright.
The sea breeze is fresh and cool.
My family's laughing voices at the background calms my heart.
Everybody is having fun, except for me. Who will be happy, if you are in a beach, an island to be exact, with your family, instead of watching the championship game of your favorite volleyball team.
I'm referring to Creamline Cool Smashers who are against with High Pay Maya. A huge fan of Morado-Valdez tandem. This out-of-town would be perfect escapade in the first week of July, if my dad just didn't disturb me with my volleyball life.
Don't get me wrong if I sounded so mean a while ago, when I said that I'd rather stay at home than to be with them. It's just that I don't want to miss out their game, considering it's a championship game. I'm a really die-hard fan of Lady Blue Eagles. #HeartStrong.
Anyways, I can't do anything right now, since I'm here with them already. Instead of getting mad of my dad who convinced me to go with them by the way, I'm trying to savor mother Earth's beauty and guess what? There is no doubt that she is really fascinating. Philippines is really beautiful and fantastic country.
We are in Santa Fe, Bantayan, Cebu. Most likely it's in the far end of Northern Cebu. That's a three to four hours of bus trip from Cebu City North Bus Terminal (NBT) to Hagnayan Port. And another one-hour travel from Hagnayan to Santa Fe via ferry boat. It's quite far, but it's worth it.
The white sand, clear sea, healthy environment, and especially the native cebuanos who are polite and hospitable, plus they speak English well. You would be in an awe and you could feel the relaxation that it gives by merely looking at your surroundings.
According to my dad the seafoods here are always fresh, considering the place is an island. Fishing is the main livelihood of the people here, you can also notice that there are a lot of foreigners who are going here to spend their vacation. Also, some of the celebrities goes here to relax from the toxic lifestyle in Manila. Have been there and I hate the place, for me that place is way polluted, don't know for others on how they see Manila.
I was walking on the shore, when I noticed this American guy who is getting tan. He was lying at his back on his blue blanket, and boy he is hot.
So, I decided to walk near him, but not because I want to flirt with him. I'm not a bitch in the beach for God's sake. I almost forgot him while I'm walking, because the clear blue sea captivated my attention.
"Excuse me, your blocking the sun." someone said.
I turn around and there is the American guy, laying on his back using his elbows to support his body, while looking at me.
I don't know what to reply, he is fucking looking at me and he is fucking hot.
He has black hair that is cut in barber, light brown eyes, firm eyebrows, pointed nose, kissable lips and he bears the Caucasian skin color. And what really caught my attention is his body, his well-built body, not to an extent that he looks like a body builder that you usually see in the gyms. I think he's in between the age of 20 to 25 years old.
"Hey, did you hear me?" he asked while raising his right eyebrow like he's annoyed by the situation.
"Ah, I'm sorry I didn't mean t-to block your way. I was just having my time with nature." I stuttered while answering him.
He sits up and stares at me. His stare is intimidating me, like he's trying to evaluate me if I'm telling the truth to him. So, I decided to walk away from the scene instead, it may be scandalous if ever he will get mad on me, there are a lot of people right now in the beach, it would be shameful on my part.
