29~ New Spells

Nylein

"Nylein, I have to stop," Nathan rubbed at his eyes and leaned back. I sighed and tapped my finger against the book we've been reading. "I can only stare at these confusing languages for so long until my eyes begin to burn."

"It's alright." I assured him. "It can get to be a bit too much for me as well."

"You can read all these just fine." He grumbled to himself. "I only know English and a few words in French."

I chuckled to myself and borrowed his sight once more. "Let me go back a few pages. I thought I saw something interesting."

"I can't read another one of those chicken scratch languages." He sat up and allowed me to look through the book again. "I mean, what is that?"

"Arabic." I said as I found what I was looking for. I grabbed a sheet of paper and translated the things I would need in to English.

"Wait, what is that?" He read over what I wrote.

"Don't worry about it." I brushed him off and folded the paper to stick in my pocket. "It's nothing bad. I promise. Now that I have what I need, let's take a break."

"Finally!" He shut his eyes and buried his nose into my neck. "I don't think I can read another word."

I rolled my eyes and disconnected from him. "Oh, come on! It was only fifteen books! I've read more than this when I had my sight."

"That's different..." He mumbled and stood us up. "I usually read only two chapters a day of one book. This is too much!"

"Well, get used to it." Leon said all of a sudden. I forgot he and my master were here. "You'll be doing this a lot for her. Wynda won't always be around. She has a life, too."

Nathan sighed. "I know, I know... In any case, when will you guys start practicing some of the spells?"

My master hummed in thought. "We might be able to start tomorrow to see how well we understood all this information. Though, almost all the things I've read has been nothing but various potions and what they do. Leon?"

"I have a couple spells about lightning manipulation." He stated. "Other than that, I've had a lot of life journals and how they lived and what they did."

"Nylein?" My master asked me.

I stretched. "Oh, you know, several spells across all elements, sub elements, and ways to temporarily increase ones power about tenfold. Also, I've gotten a few helpful potions, including but not limited to temporary stun potions, increased speed without using a Flit spell, energy potions, and pages upon pages of where different portals are and where they lead out to."

A book slammed shut. "How the hell did you get all the good stuff?!" Leon snapped.

I just grinned as I started to leave the library. "I got to choose first."

"Frolyn-"

"She's right, though." My master cut in. "She did get first pick." I grinned smugly as Nathan and I left the library to relax. I shut the door to muffle their bickering.

"What shall we do?" I asked Nathan as we began walking around.

"I for one want to know what you wrote down." He said as he pulled us to a stop. "What were all those ingredients for?"

"It's nothing bad, I promise." I placed a hand over his mark. "It's actually very beneficial."

"For you?" He asked.
