An astronaut drowning
is a hard sight,
struggling to swim,
red face blurred
by the water above,
it is impossible to see clearly,
thankfully.
The astronaut
would eventually float
--it pisses me off
that you float
after you've died--
like a meteor sitting in space,
like a blip on a radar,
a fuelless rocketship.
It is frustrating
to see an astronaut drown,
to see a space person consumed,
eliminated
by land,
by Earth,to see an astronaut die
before leaving the atmosphere
is defeating.
