As I arrived at Andrea's house, I noticed there was no cars here yet besides one, even though it was getting dark already.
I parked my penny in its normal spot where no one could see it, and went inside.
"Brookie!" I heard Andrea screech and she embraced me in a long hug.
"I swear to god, you girls always act like you haven't seen eachother in ages."
"Oh hey Sam, Kian."
They were both standing in front of me, Andrea's boyfriend Kian, and our best friend Sam. As Sam hugged me, Kian looked a little lonely.
"Hey Brooklyn." Kian said, pouting a bit.
"Oh Kian, come on get over here." I said smiling as I gave him a hug too.
"So," I said turning to face Andrea again, "Where is everyone?"
"Oh. I invited you guys over early. I thought we could hang out for a bit. But someone was late so we only have like 10 minutes."
"Does this someone happen to be named Brooklyn Waters?"
"She may or may not be the subject in question." Andrea said with a smirk on her face.

The guests started arriving very soon after that, leaving Andrea, Kian, Sam and I very little time to set up. We got out cups, soda, lots of chips, cookies, candy, and then decided on a movie.
"What should we watch?" Sam asked questioningly.
"Hmmmmmm," Kian said, "What about.. The last exorcism!"
"Okay but someone's gonna have to snuggle with me while watching it or I'm gonna have some serious issues sleeping tonight and I know none of you want that." I laughed but my laugh quickly turned into shock from Sam's words.
"I'll snuggle with you." Sam said optimistically.
I was taken aback by his words, but felt very happy deep inside.
I could feel my face getting red as I started blushing like crazy.
"Ooooooohh!!!!" Kian said, "I think Brookie likes Sam!"
"Do not."
I pressed my hand on Kian's chest and pushed him backward a bit.
I do like Sam. But I would never tell Kian that, much less Sam. Not even Natalie knows. Only Andrea.
"Come on you totally do Brooklyn!"
"As I said before Kian, I do not like Sam."
"Alright. I believe you. Not.."
"Shut up I don't like Sam that's bullshit Kian!" I was getting frustrated by now and wanted to punch Kian hard in the mouth for embarrassing me. He's my best friend and all, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to hurt him from time to time
But I saw a look of hurt in Sam's eyes and immediately I felt bad.
"Look sam I-"
"I know what you mean." He said winking at me.
After that I was left in confusion. Why would he wink? Does he like me? No that's crazy, I said to myself shaking my head. Totally, crazy. I sighed as I knew Sam could never like me, but that's okay, I still have him as a best friend, and that makes me happy.
The movie was pretty much a blur, Sam snuggled me, as he said he would. It wasn't weird or anything though, I've spent the night at his house and slept with him when my uncle was being a dick. We never did anything though, not like that. We'd kissed once when I was really upset when we were 15, but I doubt he even remembers it. And if he does, he never talks about if.
I always went to him because he was 2 blocks away, and Andrea is 7 blocks. And no one can comfort me like good old Sam Pottorff.
He's basically the brother I've always needed, but never had, so maybe that's why I like him. I don't really know though to be honest. It's weird.
But toward the end of the movie, something changed. Sam looked at me with his brown eyes that glowed in the light of the tv. Slowly, he closed his eyes, and leaned in towards my mouth. His lips touched mine, but only for a few moments.
As he pulled away I looked at him, it was really dark in the room and everyone was focused on the movie, so no one saw. Ge smiled as he held out his pinky finger and pressed his index finger from the other hand to his lips. Telling me to keep quiet. I took my pinky in his, and now, we had our own little secret.
