Anyway this story belongs to me
(Catherin POV)
My story starts when a man shows up at my family's door. He was wearing a white buttoned down top and a black jacket over the top of it. He looked rather formal for someone who was visiting our small neighbourhood. We live in a small area that not a lot of people know of. Personally I love where we live. Our house is a brick house that has a swimming pool in the front and a trampoline behind the garage.
My rooms my favourite room in the house. It's opposite our study area and has a window facing the courtyard. My room is nowhere near the biggest room in the house. It's actually rather small compared to the other rooms in house.
My room has one wall where my bed is pushed against it and a bedside table to the left of it. On the right side of my bed there is a giant wardrobe that takes all the space on that wall and stops when it meet the door frame. On the wall opposite to my bed there are all these posters of things such as space and buildings. There's a piano and a deck chair behind my door. My favourite part of my room is the bookshelf. Starting at the top it has the Famous Five collection, it also has things like some stuffed toys some balls from the FIRST Steamworks competition. Up there is also things like EOS a collection of school books placed preciously on top of the Famous Five collection a tennis trophy a bracelet from Disney and some riddles. There's also some objects from places I've been like the Willistead Manor in Windsor, a baseball form Minute Made park in Houston, an ice hockey match puck from Windsor, a statue of Simon and his donkey from the war memorial in Canberra, also from Canberra is a echidna form parliament house and a coin from the money making place, and lastly form San Francisco a cable car from the museum. Under all that is 8 shelves full of books ranging from Throne of Glass to Nancy Drew.
I was sitting on my bed with my laptop reading some fanfiction on Young Justice. I had finished up drawing the characters and was listening to music while reading. My stomach had been complaining the whole time about being hungry to the point where I had to drag myself from my comfy bed and grab a snack to eat. I was about to go back when I hear a knock on the door. My dog runs to the door once she hears the noise. Monet, my dog, had been resting peacefully on my bed. My sister comes next running down the hallway with her iPad attached to her hand. I swear I've never seen her let go of it for my then an hour, and that's during dinner. My brother, Alexander, poked his head out of his room, locked eyes with me, and then went back inside his room. My parents come next, my mum, Tracy was going down the hallway and was about to open the door when my dad beats her to it. My dad, Walter, opens the door to let him in. The man comes in and looks around the house and says,
"Your part of this family correct," he pulls out a picture of my mum's side of the family. My mum nods her head obviously wanting to know more.
"Well your family and you are going to be staying in a giant mansion with your family for a month or two," he says with a cheesy smile. I gulp not wanting to go to some stupid event like this. That part of the family doesn't know me well at all. They picture me as a quiet girl that doesn't like sports or building or reading funny and murder mystery books.
I build up the courage to ask, "do we have a choice?"
The man sends a small sad smile, 'used to working with teenagers', I think.
"No you must attend. You can however bring whatever you want, the moving vans will be paid for by us. You also leave in a week," he says looking at me when I opened my mouth about to ask a question.
I could have left it at that but I had to ask "can we bring our dog?"
He flashes me yet another smile "I did say whatever you want, didn't I?"
I huff in annoyance, this guy was getting on my nerves and I was ready to lose it. He hands me a pamphlet on everything that'll be in the house. The thing was it wasn't too far from my school. You see, I have three more weeks of school holidays left before I go back to school to start year nine.
He smiles and says bye to my parents who seem to be too stunned to give coherent answers. My sister, Selena, left ages ago when she got bored, and Monet was nowhere to be seen or heard. When his eyes meet mine he flashes me another smile, I give him a fake one and leave to head to my room.
I trudge to my room and start thing about what would be coming with me. I decide that all of my bookshelf is coming along with all the things on top of it. My piano would be coming same with the bed. My feet take me over to my wardrobe and I open it and start looking through it. I reason that my school clothes and all my shoes need to come. You never know when you're going to need it. I open the other part, the part that has all my other clothes. As soon as I open up the door the clothes come out on top of me. My sigh was muffled by all the clothes that came bursting out of my wardrobe. Groaning I start sorting things that must come, starting with my sport gear. 'I'll need to bring my racket' I think as I take them and put them in a box I has underneath my bed. After about 10 minutes I give up and dump them all in a box and go onto organising my other odds and ends in my room. I move aver to my book shelf and start putting all my books carefully into my boxes.
"CATHERINE!" I sigh as I stop working on my packing. I turn around with an annoyed sigh.
"Yes?" I say
"I need help!" she screamed
"I'm busy!" I yell back.
This was going to be a long week.
