Unknown POV

Beep, beep, beep! I wake up to the loud annoying alarm clock reminding me to wake up for the first day of my senior year at Lincoln Park High. Whew! I hop out of my California king bed and stretch. I go to my bathroom in my bedroom to complete my daily hygiene's which includes, showering, face washes, face moisturizers, and exfoliating with my body polish. I wasn't the typical girl to wear makeup, fake lashes, and I barely even wore weave. I am the type of girl who sits in the middle of the classroom because I'm far too shy to sit at the front, and only the "cool" kids sat in the back. I'm the one with the long curly natural hair I've had since birth, the one with the metal braces in her mouth, and the golden skin tone so bright that you'd think one of my parents was white meanwhile the other was black.

But no... I'm a typical black girl with smarts. I have all honors or ap classes, which makes every ignorant black person look at me like a teachers pet, know-it-all, or weirdo. I come from a pretty wealthy family with nice income. My mother is a surgeon and my father... well he's the top lawyer out of the whole state. Just because I don't wear those designer Jordan's, true religion, or Gucci, doesn't make me any different from any other person because, at the end of the day, we all bleed the same. I am black. I am beautiful. I am human. I am Tamia Larveck and, this is MY story.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I drive into LPHS's parking lot, driving my 2016 Nissan maxima and find a parking spot that's perfect walking distance from the entrance. I'm the new girl and of course stares are in my expectance. Let me remind you again, I'm black... I have thick thighs that save lives, wide hips with the dips, and butt that will have you in a trance. Already knowing that the perverted, hormonal, and immature boys will stare & comment. As I walk in the doors, I check my iPhone 8plus to refer back to my schedule...
Classroom 104, Mr. Bates AP English on the second floor. I feel stares left and right. "She's bad asf", "I gotta hit that", I hear as I'm entering the stairwell. I'm used to phrases like that, I had to build tough skin knowing the way my body is set up. The fact that I left my last school from always getting into fights makes Lincoln Park High a new beginning for me. From the description of myself you're probably saying "she fights?", well everyone has a past, and mine? I'm not so proud of... I used to try and fit in with people I knew that weren't my type. I smoked weed, drunk, went to parties, fought a few times, fell in toxic relationships, and despite of it all, my grades were still A1. After leaving my last school, I knew I had to change, because all the things I was doing is not maturity...
"Hey Tamia" I hear someone call my name as I'm rushing to my class with 5 minutes to spare. I turn to see this girl I met from orientation.
"oh yeah... Shaniece! hey! I gotta get going, I'm running a little late, I'll catch up with you later?"
"for sure girl! I'll see you at lunch! all seniors have the same lunch"
"bet" I say as I walk down the hall a little longer making it into my first period and sitting in the middle of the class.
"Hello, what's your name young lady?" Mr.Bates says greeting me.
"Tamia, Tamia Larveck"
"Nice to meet you, Miss. Larveck"
"You too sir". I say back already liking his friendliness. I look at the syllabus sheet that he assigns for the whole year... It's going to be a breeze, no projects, no poetry, all books and essays. As I'm reading the paper closely, I feel someone tap on my arm. A girl that has pretty dark skin, long straight natural hair, with beautiful brown eyes.
"Hey, my name is Tommie"
"Nice to meet you, I'm Tamia"
"You new here?" I never really showed my bisexual side of me... But sheesh, she might bring it out.
