Chapter 27: Finals

Start from the beginning

"Not with that face." I answered, pushing his head away. "That was hella creepy."

"I tried!" Jaemin whined. He pouted cutely in his place.

"I'm sowwy." I hugged him. "I didn't mean to huwt your feewings~"

"Hmmph!" Jaemin pouted.

"You two are way too adorable." Jinyoung commented.

"What about me?" Jeno tried. He attempted to puff up his cheeks and had his hands underneath.

"The only thing you have going for you is your eye smile." Jinyoung turned towards Jeno. She smiled sarcastically before she pushed his head away. "Just smile and then hopefully you can get the girls."

"What do you mean?" Jeno asked. "I'm pretty cute!"

"He is to be fair." Jaemin said.

"I just love a gay couple." Jungwoo sighed. "Why am I so lonely?"

"Me too, Jungwoo." Jinyoung sighed. "Me too."

"I was about to say 'same', but then I realized..." I admitted, looking down at my hands which were interlocked hands.

"Shut up, Jieun!" Jinyoung threw a piece of carrot at me. "We get it, you're fucking married!"

"Hey!" I exclaimed. "Not so loud!"

"Sorry." Jinyoung looked around. "It seems like no one heard it though."

"You never know..." I told her. "They could always hear but never show any response."

"I'm sorry.' She said again. "It just slipped my tongue. Where are we meeting after school?"

"The practice room?" Jaemin tried to answer. "I mean it really depends on Mark if he wants to hold a practice after school. I think he's in the library right now to study for his later exam."

"I can go ask." Jungwoo said, getting up. "I need to return my library books anyway."

"Who reads?" Jinyoung asked.

"I do." Jungwoo stuck his tongue out. "Maybe you should try it. It could help your literature grade."

"Shut up!" Jinyoung threw a piece of her carrot at him. "And for your information, I have a pretty good grade in that class!"

"Probably the only class you're passing." Jungwoo muttered before running towards the library.

"I'm going to kill you Kim Jungwoo!" Jinyoung screamed after Jungwoo's running figure.

"Just let him be." Jeno laughed. "But he isn't wrong."

"Do you want to die, Jeno?" JInyoung threatened, holding her fork.

"I'm good." Jeno smiled.

"You do realize that you could just shove everything inside of your bag and reorganize later, right?" Jaemin picked up my pencil pouch and placed it in my bag. "Is this why you take so long?"

"Hey!" I protested. "I'm just trying to stay neat. Besides, I tend to talk to friends and forget to pack."

"You can't multitask?" Jaemin asked. I pouted. He ruffled my hair and smiled at me. He took my bag, and we walked out of the class. "Mark wanted to hold a dance practice today."

"Well, isn't that good?" I asked him. "That way you guys can have a head start on your competitions?"

"Yeah, but I wanted to have a small little date!" Jaemin whined. "There's always that time period between the start of practice to the end of practice that everyone has to chill."

"But didn't everyone say to meet at the practice room even if Mark wasn't going to hold a dance practice?" I asked, confused.

"Yeah, but they would probably go straight to the apartment." Jaemin admitted. "Jeno knows where I keep the spare key, so he would probably enter without me. This is why I wanted to have a date today."

"But why today?" I asked, surprised that I was staying calm. My heart was not. It was beating against my chest, threatening to pump itself out.

"Because~" Jaemin grabbed my hand and acted cute around me. "We've been together for a while but we haven't had an official date!"

"But my birthday—"

"Was invaded by everyone else." Jaemin interrupted. He started to jump around like a little kid. "I want a date with just the two of us!"

"What about all of those times where we had takeout?" I asked. He shook his head.

"That doesn't work in my book." He waved his finger. "I swear to you, Park Jieun, I will have my date by next week!"

"By next week?!" I asked, laughing at his reaction. He started to look around frantically in panic.

"You know what I mean!" He whined. "If Mark cancels a dance practice any time this week, I promise we will have a date!"

"Alright Mr. Bigshot." I laughed. "Keep dreaming."

"Hey, we still technically have to have one." Jaemin said. "Besides, we still have to plan our honey—"

"Not here." I glared at him. My hand was over his mouth. "Remember? We only talk about it at home." He nodded, and I took my hand off of his mouth.

"Sorry." He muttered before playing with our hands. "How is it that your hand can fit perfectly into mine?"

"I don't know, Jaemin." I smiled. "I guess you could call it a coincidence that it happens to be this way."

"I guess so." He smiled back at me. "I'm glad that I was forced to married you."

"I told you!" I complained. "Not here!"

"No one's going to hear us!" Jaemin responded. "Trust me!"

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes. "And what do you mean by 'forced'?"

"Because in the beginning we both didn't want this."
