They were aware of Jaemin's disappearance.

It was the next day. I woke up in the morning, still in denial that Jaemin was gone. I sighed and brushed my teeth after dressing into my uniform. I trudged over to my bag and picked it up. I left the apartment and began to walk towards the school.

I had woken up earlier than usual and decided to be healthy and walk to school. I tried to walk happily as the sunrise greeted me. I smiled at the sunrise and stopped in my place. I pulled out my phone and took a picture.

"Woah!" Someone screamed from behind me. "Look out!" I shifted to the side to barely avoid being run over by a student on their bike. They stopped their bike and turned to look at me. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah." I answered, brushing off any dust that landed on my skirt.

"I'm sorry—Jieun?" I looked up and saw Jeno on his bike.

"Oh, hey Jeno." I waved. I ran up to him and he got off of his bike. He started to walk his bike and walk alongside me. "Why are you in such a rush?"

"I have to do some extra dance practice with Jisung at his school." Jeno admitted. "More like I have to be a temporary judge for his dance crew. Luckily, their school managed to excuse me from first and second period, but it starts really early."

"Ah." I smiled. "That explains a lot."

"Yeah," Jeno smiled. He looked at me and hesitated before he spoke. "Are you, you know, okay?"

"Yeah, why?" I asked him.

"Well," He stopped himself. "Never mind."

"What is it?" I stopped and turned to him. "Tell me."

"Look, I have to go or I'll be late." Jeno smiled a sad smile. "If I can catch you during lunch, I'll tell you then."

"Alright." I told him. He got on his bike and adjusted his position. He started the pedals and rode off into the direction of Jisung's middle school.

When lunch time did come around, Jeno never came to ask his question. We even made eye contact a few times, yet he never came up to me. No problem. I was aware of what he was going to ask. Was I really okay after knowing that Jaemin was kidnapped?

Honestly, I didn't even know myself. I just put on a smile to fool everyone, including myself.

I woke up later than usual. The sun was shining in my face with its brilliant lights. I grabbed the sheets and tossed them over my face. The sun was persistent, unfortunately, and it still slightly blinded me through the sheets. I pushed the sheets off of my face and unwillingly got out of bed. I trudged over to the kitchen and noticed that we were out of milk. Sighing, I grabbed the cereal box from the pantry and placed it on the breakfast table. I grabbed a bowl from the kitchen and placed it next to the box.

Yawning, I poured the dry cereal into the bowl and started to eat the cereal. I pulled out my phone to see if the police found any trace of where Jaemin might be. None. Not even the news reported it. After two days, it seemed that Jaemin's kidnapping was thrown under the mat and no one cared anymore.

Ding Dong!

I groaned and got up from my place. I opened the door to see Jaemin's parents and my mom standing outside.

"Hello, sweetie!" Jaemin's mom smiled an all too fake smile. "We wanted to see how you were."

"I'm doing fine." I lied to Jaemin's mom. In fact, my heart was starting to crumble in despair as reality began to dawn upon me. "How are you?"
