| Han Jia |

Han Jia was born on Jeju Island, a small island on the south coast of Korea. She lived there for seven years until her parents moved to Mexico for business reason. They spent two years there and in that time Jia learnt how to fluently speak Spanish.

When she was nine, she and her parents moved back to Korea, but this time in Seoul. Jia struggled a bit to fit in at school. As well as having forgotten a lot of Korean cultures, she also had to overcome a slight language barrier.

Since Jeju Island is... well, an island, it is detached from the rest of Korea. While nowadays you can fly there quickly, centuries ago it would have been hard to reach so people rarely visited. This lead to the people of Jeju Island almost completely remodelling the language.

At first young Jia cried to her parents to take her back to Jeju Island but they couldn't. Jia considered just never speaking at her school but the fighter in her told her that she could overcome this small dilemma.

And soon Jia was one of the most popular girls in her class.

Years later, Jia was scouted by SM Entertainment when she 11 years old at her school talent show where she sang a beautiful ballad song, impressing everyone with her amazing voice.

She began training almost immediately. BoA pretty much adopted her. Jia looked up to her a lot and still does.

In 2014, Jia almost debuted as a Red Velvet member but at the last minute, it was decided that Red Velvet would be better as a four-member group. Of course, when Yeri was added into the group months later, Jia couldn't help but be angry. She had been training for six years, shouldn't she be able to debut by now?

But, alas, she was sent back to the training room.

As you would expect, Jia became very skilled at dancing, singing and rapping. She also began developing an interest in producing and writing songs.

During her ten years of training, Jia made numerous friends, her best friend being Johnny who, like her, was quite familiar with the SM basement.

Finally in 2018, when Jia was told she would be able to debut, she burst into tears and joy.

| Sirikit Sajaban |

Sirikit is the oldest of four children. They all lived in one apartment with their parents and grandma.

Her parents worked a lot and Sirikit became like a mother to her siblings. She would sing them to sleep, cook them food and help them get ready for school. She practically raised them. She also took great care of her grandmother.

Sirikit went to an international school where she learned how to speak English.

As Sirikit aged, she grew tired of the life she lived in the cramped apartment and thought about leaving on a daily basis. But she had nowhere to go and no money. So she continued on with her dull, mundane life.

It wasn't until 2015 when SM Entertainment held auditions in Bangkok that Sirikit finally saw a way out. She had never been more excited about something in her life and sang her heart out at the audition.

She was excepted and almost cried with joy. She was finally free!

It wasn't that Sirikit hated her family, she just couldn't stand to spend every day with them and continuously look after her siblings. Sirikit had spent 19 years in that shoebox apartment and felt suffocated. Even if she never got to debut as an idol, Sirikit would still be happy.
