Izuku is now eleven years old. He's studied all of his father's theories as well as the repercussions. Of course, he doesn't have to worry; as long as he does this correctly and strictly by the books, he won't need to sacrifice anything of importance, a couple drops of blood at the most. In order for the transmutation to work, he needs the basic components of a human body. To his surprise, most of them are extremely easy to acquire: water, salt, iron, etc.

Leading up to his planned day of resurrection, he spends his days collecting the many elements he needs. The Bakugous always look upon him strangely as he enters their household with bags, of what looks to be dirt, in his arms. But they do not ask, afraid to see the small smile playing at his lips disappear.

Of course, the silent rule doesn't apply to Katsuki Bakugou, not that it's surprising. All throughout elementary school, Bakugou had ignored Izuku, making sure everyone knew he was adopted, not his brother or fraternal twin. If Izuku hadn't dealt with the loss of both his parents, he's sure Bakugou would've done more than pretend he didn't exist at school. He would have bullied Izuku, probably still would.

Izuku's just glad he doesn't mess with him. In all honesty, he doesn't know if he could take it. He would much rather it be this way. No one bothering him, questioning him, tell him what to do, what not to do (Auntie Mitsuki is the one exception to this, of course).

The ultimate process takes a full year, but he wants to see his mother's smile again. He wants to go back to the life with her, the way things used to be. That's what drove him, day and night.

During school hours, he sketches bits and pieces of the Transmutation Circle needed to perform the Alchemy. He adds small footnotes and comments in places where certain symbols are needed and elements are to be placed. One of Hisashi's books is always open upon his desk, ready to be further annotated. Several of his classmates are curious, as well as a few of his teachers. He has been asked multiple times to put his 'strange books' away and focus on the lesson. It's a wonder that they haven't confiscated his things yet.

It is the thirteenth of October when the day finally arrives, the day he'll change his life. He runs home from school, tossing his backpack and textbooks onto the floor of his room.

"Izuku?" Mitsuki calls from the kitchen. "What was that noise? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Auntie!" he replies, dumping out his faded yellow backpack. He quickly packs his bag with the materials needed to create the circle. Folding a large sheet of paper (containing the sketch of the finished product of the Transmutation Circle), he tucks it under his arm and bolts down the stairs, making sure not to forget Hisashi's journal as he does.

"Izuku," Mitsuki calls again, "where are you going?"

"I'm just going on a quick walk to clear my head," he answers anxiously.

"Be safe, Izuku."

With those words, he is out the door and across the street.

It's kind of ironic, really. The place he's going to perform the transmutation is none other than his mother's old house. It had been put on the market right after she died six years ago, but no one bought it. The grass out front is now overgrown, and near the window, the garden is being choked with weeds. Dust and dirt litters the porch, as well as small bugs and rodents scurry out of sight. A few of the windows are smashed in (a few middle schoolers across the street play a game in which they try and throw rocks through highest window) while the others are faded. Overall, the old house just looks dilapidated and sad.

Using an old house key, Izuku pushes the door open and rushes inside, leaving dusty footprints in his wake. In a large empty space in the main living room, Izuku sets his things down and gets to work.
