His Mate

Chapter 1

"wolves are dangerous creatures, they will hurt you even if you didn't do anything wrong" I've been told this ever since I was a little girl. I'm 16 now and I know they are dangerous but I can't help but be fascinated by them. They are beautiful and majestic.

"Ruby hon we're gonna be late" my dad yells from downstairs. We are going to see my mother, I never really met her because she died a couple months after I was born.

It's always been me and my dad. I get down stairs and he quickly ushers me out the door. We get in the car and my dad starts driving down the long winding road.

In the corner of my eye I see the fastest movement and my gaze shifts over to this beautiful gray wolf. It's smaller than all the other wolves.

My dad clears his throat as if trying to get my attention and it works. I look at him and he is frowning. "Ruby I don't get why you like them so much, they are dangerous, vile creatures."

I huff out of annoyance making him look over at me angrily. "Ruby those are the things that killed your mother" he yells not noticing that he missed the turn to get into the cemetery.

"Dad, you missed the turn!" I yelled trying to get him to listen. When he finally listened to me he quickly tries to find a way to turn around.

We get a little ways down the road when I notice another wolf, he is much larger than the one I saw earlier, but instead of him being gray like the one before, this one was all white with blue eyes.

When my dad saw him he sped up. "DAD WHAT ARE YOU DOING" I yelled. I hold on to the handle bar and hear a loud thud. My dad stops the car. I unbuckle and run to the wolf. "Are you okay?" He growls and shifts back into his human form completely naked

"I'm s-so s-s-orry" I mumbled out. He glared at me and growled. "What are you doing on our side of the border" he barked out.

"I uh, we um" is all I got out before my dad got out of the car holding a gun. I was twisted into the guys hands and in a second his hands were around my neck.

"Drop the gun, or she dies" he said. My dad dropped the gun and kicked out of his way.

"Give me my daughter" my dad says in a pleading voice. I look up at the man and he is smirking.

"Don't you know the treaty?" My dad's eyes got wider with shock when he realized and I'm pretty sure mine did too. I don't want to die. I'm too young to die.

"I'll spare you lives" my heart flooded with relief but he continued "if your daughter willingly comes with me" my heart sank.

Why does he want me, I'm just an ordinary girl he doesn't want me. " No I won't let you take her" and with that being said my dad tried lunging for the gun.

I heard loud cracking noises and was thrown on the wolf's back and he started running very fast. I didn't want to fall off so I was holding onto his neck very hard that I'm pretty sure I almost choked him.

I tried to keep track of where we were running to but we entered the woods and I got lost.

It felt like forever when we finally stopped at a house in the middle of nowhere and he turned back into his human form again, once again very naked.

"Come" he said in a demanding tone. "I'm not going anywhere with you" I yelled. He looked around and smiled. "You already have."

I didn't get to say anything when he picked me up and walked into the house. "Put me down, help" I screamed.

He set me down on the couch and he sat down next to me. I glared at him.  He can't just take me like that, who does he think he is. I looked at him. "Can't you just go put on clothes" I huffed out.

He laughed and entered a room and came out wearing a black shirt with a pair of jeans. In a way he was kind of good looking.

"Name's Jared" he said with a smile. "Ruby" I said in a monotoned voice. He sighed. Good I'm making him mad.

I looked around the house, it was a nice house, it is really big. The living room has a big screen TV with a couch across from it and two chairs on both ends of the couch.

"You know, you'll really like it here." I rolled my eyes at him. "Mmm being surrounded by big dangerous wolves where I can get hurt, I don't think so." He growled at my response. I stood up to get away from him

"Not all wolves are dangerous just some of them, it's the alpha you have to worry about." He growled

I looked at him, he means to tell me that he isn't the Alpha. He must be his second in command or something.

"Who is the alpha?" He smiled "you'll know when you see him, he's big and tall and very tough. He can rip you to shreds." If I wasn't scared before I'm even more scared now. I can't be around wolves. I was always taught that they are bad.

I sat back down on the couch when I girl around nineteen came into the house. She was beautiful she had long brown hair with brown eyes compared with my bright red locks of curly hair, and blue eyes.

"Who's the girl" she said sweetly.

Jared took her hand and kissed it. "Zoey this is Ruby, she's human and I spared her life after she crossed into our territory." Zoey looked shocked.

"What are you gonna do about alpha, he might kill her if he finds her" she said nervously, making me uncomfortable. 

"We can't keep her here" she said. Finally someone I agree with. Jared and Zoey both looked at the door and that's when I heard running and the loud cracking noise again.

"WHAT IS A HUMAN DOING ON MY TERRITORY" I heard from outside the front door. It opened with a loud bang and in came in the most sexiest man I have ever seen. He looked around the living room and his eyes finally landed on mine, and when they did I felt an electric shock throughout my entire body.

"Mate" he growled.
