A/N: Okay, so the prologue was supposed to be kind of a backstory on why the main character feels this way as the book goes on. I figured I'd put that there in-case any of you were confused. Let me know what you think of this one in the comments, and thanks for reading!! P.S. Super sorry I haven't been able to update, I've been moving.✌❤💞

The next week passed and I realized I had made a huge mistake... By the second day my parents had already found me and forced me to go home; which was the right thing to do as far as the law goes, but not for me.

Obviously I got in massive trouble for running away, so I was pretty much banned to do nothing but sit in my room. No phone, outside, friends, any sort of game, literally nothing.

But that wasn't what got me, I had been grounded before, but not anything like making me switch schools. They told me that my friends were toxic, and that they were turning me into a different person... But they didn't realize that I wasn't ever gonna change. They were the people who were making me change. By the way they treated me for telling the the real truth about me as a person. But now I wasn't even that, and it hurt.

So here I was at this new school, new people. New teachers. New jocks.

The first day didn't go too well, they called me the usual names, y'know, the ones that take no thought at all because they just want recognition, and popularity for calling the "new kid" something that involves a curse word. That kind of insult.

Was that overboard? Probably.

But, the only reason the day wasn't totally horrible is because someone actually stood up for me. They helped me out through the day and we began a friendship. His name was Devon.

He was kinda tall, wore black glasses and had brown hair. Which was cut into a longer-on-the-top, generic guys' cut. I guess he was kinda scary to them because they all went away pretty quickly.

He started to walk away, but then I stopped him. "Wait!"

He turned back around, "Yeah?"

"Thanks for that... It means a lot."

He just smiled, "No problem."

"Want to um... Maybe hang out at lunch sometime? You seem cool."

He thought for a second, "Yeah- Yeah. Sounds good."

"Okay!"

Yes. This day actually went okay. Maybe we can actually be friends...  Nah, I just met him though. I guess that's how all friendships start... What if he just feels bad?

I ignored my thoughts and looked forward to lunch. Maybe I could actually scrape through this year and on... With his help at least.

OKAY. SORRY THIS WAS SHORT. TELL ME WHAT YOU THOUGHT IN THE COMMENTS AND ILL TAKE YOUR ADVICE. THANKS FOR READING! ✌❤
